Default Dash vibration/buzzing

My '15 CD has a buzzing noise coming from somewhere in the dash at 1400-1600 RPMs. Consistently.

Dealer has been great and they just replaced the defrost strip, putting tape and insulation materials on anything that looked like it might rub. They didn't find anything loose under the strip. When they test drove it, they didn't hear any noises, but on my way home, they started back up.

We're both at a loss of where this might be coming from, so I thought I'd turn to the collective knowledge here and see if anyone else had experienced this or had any ideas on where to look. The clock is tight as are all the speaker grilles. That is, when I press on any of them, it doesn't stop the buzzing.

Have you checked the panel under the dash on the passengers side? That’s the only other thing I can think of. I to had to have my speaker grills taped as they were making noise.

It's been in again for the same buzzing.

I've actually got 2 distinct buzzing issues. First one, at 1500 RPM (+/- about 75), the dash buzzes like crazy. Under load only, though. Or maintaining speed. At 60 MPH, 8th gear, it's perfect and it just buzzes away rolling down the road.

Second one is at 1250 to about 1350 RPMs and the instrument cluster buzzes. I can press on that and quiet it down. I'm going to put a temp fix in place by pushing some inner tube rubber in there to keep a bit of pressure on the cluster.

Dealer has, again, been great. But despite their efforts and repairs, both buzzes are still there. And possibly getting worse.

Anyone have any ideas besides the passenger panel Newegg mentioned?

20 second clip. Sound is there in the background, but clearly heard near the end of the video.

I get a similar buzz around the instrument cluster and the plastic piece above the steering column on my ‘15 CD. I can push down to make it stop. I’ve been to lazy to take to the dealer, since it doesn’t seem to happen 100 percent of the time.

I get the exact same buzz from my cluster at idle randomly. I've noticed if I push in on the cluster and down on the hood or right next to the wheel by the plastic pieces, it'll calm down for a second. I really think a piece of felt tape between the interior pieces right there may be worn down or missing causing mine. Perhaps worth a shot? (Look to the RIGHT of the steering wheel, not to the left by the key, and press in on that panel that normally has wood/cf/whatever on it).

Does yours do it at idle or if you rev and hold at that rpm?

I got a strange one and narrowed it down to inside the glove box on left side of dash. just haven't got around to checking why its doing it. if i hold the panel down, the noise stops. but kind of annoying especially for a car that is supposed to be top end.

Yeah, that was a complaint of mine. My Lexus doesn't vibrate at all, anywhere so I get a bit embarrassed when people get in and it starts buzzing at the dash and they see me pushing on it to get it to stop lol.

That's where it sounds like it's coming from, to me. That general area. I haven't messed around in there or under there yet. Kind of hard to do that when you're driving!

Agree. And my dealer agrees, too. Unfortunately, PCNA is all to willing to pay for the repair time/parts, but they generally only allow an hour - when they allow any - diagnostic time. Noises take longer than that to isolate, usually.

pop open the glovebox then drive around and not film it for us. just see if you can look for it. or better yet..... get into pass side and get a driver to follow your instructions on what speed and such to drive at.
