Just to be clear, the armrest lights don't stay lit once the dome lights go out (I wish they would) - the door pocket lights are part of the lighting package though, and are most easily adjusted in the MFD menu under vehicle - settings.

So it’s at the dealer since 8am this morning. It’s now 2pm. Called and they said they haven’t figured it out yet and will likely keep it overnight. Now this is getting scary. Will update when I know more.

2) does anyone know the part numbers 's for the LED strips in the armrests? (I have this option & they work but looking at swapping them out for maybe something stronger) If anyone has the how to remove the door instructions to get at these I would be thankful.
3) has anyone figured out to have the overhead light off and the armrests and/or floor lights on? I am thinking of just removing the overhead light bulb (as there is two)

Exact same symptoms. 2011 Cayenne S. Only thing that comes to mind is that I replaced my drivers door window switch cluster with a non-Porsche part. Might try to locate an oem version to test the theory.
would love to find out OP resolved his issue and what the fix was.

Let's beat a dead horse
My Cayenne doesn't have a lighting package (except 9MB Dimmable Interior LED Lighting, whatever it is), but I don't see any ambient light in the doors while I can turn on the "ambient horseshoe" thing on a top. I really didn't pay the attention if the foot well lights were on along with the horseshoe light.
Another question - where is the light sensor that controls the ambient light? It looks like that during the day I can't turn it on at all.

One of the aggravations with forums is when people ask how to solve a problem, and take the car to the dealer, but do not report back with the results. I know this is just venting, but maybe someone will read this post, and realize that we would like to know the answers to each question asked on the forum. For every problem, more than one person is having the same experience.

I will answer to myself. I poked those buttons and came out to conclusion that IF the “opened door lights” are turned off - the ambient light will have ONLY the horseshoe ambient light that can be turned on. No footwell or door armrest lights gonna work. However if the “opened door lights” are enabled (the red led by the respective buttone is not lit) - ALL the ambient light will work including the horseshoe, footwell and door armrest lights.
