I nearly finished my install (just have to wrap a few bits up) and it went pretty well. Hardest part for me was removing the dvd player. I ended up removing the screen first after watching some online guide, then it came right off. Everything seems to work well. All in, it took 4-5 hours as I was just taking my time. I could probably do it again in 2 hours. I'll zip it all up in the morning and go for a drive. I purchased the kit from Nick and NM.

Bought my kit from wizard263789 (Nick @ NM Automotive) and just had it installed today by Audio Concepts (https://www.audioconceptsandmore.com). Absolutely no issues - install and system work perfectly, couldn't be happier.
Pics from my install:
Audio Concepts is in Simi Valley, a few minutes outsides the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles - so check them out if you need this done. I was the guinea pig today (I trusted them and they delivered), so it should be even easier for anyone else.
I know I sound like an advertisement but I'm just a dude with a 911.1 who is happy to have a modern infotainment system.

Unfortunately Nick no longer ships to Canada... so I'm going to have to order mine directly from China via Aliexpress.

For info, we have tested a wireless version of the CarPlay kit. We found it problematic in bench tests; we saw a large amount of sound stutter even with the iPhone close to the unit and in a 'clean/low noise' environment. We didn't view it ready for sale at this point. Obviously, there is no telling whether all the units are produced by the same manufacturer so specific units may vary in performance for better or worse.

Yeah, I asked the seller about it and he says it doesn't lag at all and the system operates pretty quick... But of course he's going to say that. :P

Thank you kindly for the quick reply, i think it is the latest SW version for the 958.2 pre 2017/18 MY , mine is Jan/2016 built
can not wait to install this kit but between work , my remote location and the world cup games i am way behind
and honestly my main reason as of why this particular kit? because of your support, professionalism and hard work .....truly one of a kind
