Default Auto-folding mirrors

Has anyone found a way to program the mirrors on our 958's to fold automatically like most other luxury brands do? I came from Audi and totally miss the auto-fold mirrors. I've heard they are capable in other markets but not the US so I'm wondering if anybody's figured a way to program it

took mine to the dealer and asked about it. They told me to hold the lock button and that's it. No other option provided.

Look on the bright side. Not activating those motors every time you park will make them last a heck of a lot longer.

The Connect app will let you do it remotely if you happen to forget to do it manually. Likewise locking it. Assuming you've subscribed to the Connect service, that is.

I'd love to have a controllable option for it. There's a few times where we end up parking in close situations that'd be nice to have it done automatically. But otherwise I'm in the 'avoid breaking a motor through over-use' camp. Sure, it ought to be able to stand up to repeated use. But I'll trade everyday convenience against dealer visits..

So I think about this a little different. If I have an option on any vehicle that I hesitate to use for fear of wearing it out, that vehicle's gotta go.

Am I saving the integrity of my power mirrors for the next owner to use and enjoy? ...not.

I love my CTT, but I'm not partial to any particular make/model ....I've owned MANY enthusiast vehicles over the years (the vehicles in my signature below is only a partial list)...if I have something I'm not using for fear it will break, nah, that's not happening. I'd move on to something else in that case.

I use my folding power mirrors often. If they break, I'll get them fixed. If it bugs me enough or becomes overly problematic , I'll buy something else.

And yes, I agree some sort of auto-folding feature would be very nice. But I'm glad at least they fold in at all, and with relatively little effort, even though it may not be the most convenient way.

Cheers all!

Once I learned, on this board, that it was all I had to do, it is what I do every time.

I know, I know, the inconvenience of having to press buttons . . . I did like the keyless entry and start the Touareg had, and one could lock the door by touching the door handle and how the mirrors would fold themselves in.

For anyone still wanting to do this, I was able to successfully program the mirrors on my 2011 Turbo to auto fold in and out through a Launch X431

If you have them -----use them. Not that i think they'd 'dry up ' but when i think of issues like this i'm reminded about parking brakes and it is wise to use them to keep things 'lubricated' and not full of what -have -you. This could apply to most things on the car. Don't save for a rainy day. If you've got'em use 'em.

You will need access to a scan tool that can code on a Porsche. I used an Autel scan tool.

this is the way
I have seen this option in my Launch X431 but that said, I purposely did NOT enable it. Why? Just one more thing to break and I can manually press a button for them to fold in/out for when I really need it.
IMHO, if you are going to mess with your mirrors, replace them get the Euro wide angle speck that gives you visibility and removes blind spots. (Also removes the text things are closer than they appear … haha)
