If you google it a bit - there are lots of "key programming" tools available - including ones that claim to be Porsche capable. I know there is a locksmith not too far from me who claims they can clone keys..
Dunno anyone that's had it done - but there are places claiming it can be done outside the dealership.
I am in Charleston SC. I bought two fobs from suncoast porsche online for $79 dollars each. I couldnt find a local locksmith who had the software to program. I reluctantly called the local Porsche dealer here in Charleston SC and was pleasantly surprised. They charged me $49.95 to program both fobs and an additional 5 bucks to swap the blades on my non working fobs to the working fobs. it did take 1.5hrs to do but was well worth it. I know it isnt in Atlanta but a day trip to Charleston isnt that bad!
The ICarScan has some sort of key registration function. Dunno what it does - if anyone wants to try it out and lives close enough to me in NJ - we could give it a shot. I guess I should explore it a tad.
Hey there! Please if you can help me because i try to find a solution for more days and i realy don.t find nothing! My Porche cayenne diesel 2011 stay 2 days no move and when i whant to get in the car the remote don.t open the car..i change batery but nothing...i thake the second key...same problem...i open the dor manualy i realy don.t know what to do...how to reset the key...car start and go perfect whit the key but i canot open...please...
You need the key code and someone with a device to program the car. You don't need a dealer to do it. I did my own.
Hmm... being that each virgin new remote is Factory-programmed, the VIN programming is what makes the key start the vehicle, without setting-off the immobilizer. PM me, rbrewer....
When I got my 05 CT it came with only the valet key, no keys with remotes. I ordered a key from my local Porsche shop that they ordered thru the dealer. With my vin code they got a key that was pre-cut. They had to re-program the vehicle to accept both the valet key and the new keyfobbed key. Since then the guy I bought the CT from sent my two blank fobbed keys. Dealer will not cut them. Found only 1 key place in OKC that said they could both cut the keys and re-program the CT for all the keys but had to have all the keys. They charge almost as much as ordering key blanks from them (still cheaper than dealer) so have not messed with it yet.
