Cayenne Caliper question
Hi guys,
I went from a 17" wheel to a 20" wheel on my '08 Cayenne Base 3.6L.
Cayenne base uses 330mm rotors and 17Z caliers
Want to go to the 18Z calipers and 350mm rotors to "fill" the wheel.
(or 19Z calipers with 380mm rotors)
Question is:
Will this just be a matter of getting the larger rotors/calipers?
Or do I need anything else?
Will the 18Z caliper mount right on, or do I need a bracket or adaptor?

Not sure on the answer for you, what generation you're Cayenne is, or timing, but in a couple months, I'm going to have the complete big red braking system (calipers, rotors, pads, etc) from my 2009 957 Turbo S that's getting a Misha widebody kit and some other upgrades up for sale. I've just purchased a complete PCCB setup that will be going on it. Current front steel rotors are the big 380mm versions. 28,000 miles on it.
I need to come up with a price, but let me know if you're interested and I can keep you posted.

I've seen posts like that in other forums. That would get lumped that into the 'mall-crawling' crowd in offroad circles. As in, make their chariot look more like a poseur than actual needs/uses/skills could ever hope to utilize. Entry-model Jeep guys trying to pimp theirs into looking like an STR8, comes to mind.
I'm waiting for the question of how to paint rotors black so they'll go along with the yellow painted calipers, aping the PCCB look... "Fill the wheel", yeah, uh-huh..
Might've gotten a bit more traction with asking how to actually get to the better braking performance of larger rotors and their calipers.
I got flack from my gearhead buddies ages ago suggesting retrofitting disc brakes from a Pontiac wagon onto my Chevy... until they actually drove it and experienced the performance improvement. But then I wasn't looking to be fakin' it, I needed those brakes with my 'driving style'.

luxman has a whopping 8 posts since joining in 2012. Searching back through them, at least half contain this same derogatory tone. I'm putting him in the DB category, on my ignore list, and moving on. Good news is we probably won't see another post from him for 18 months or so.

I take great satisfaction in knowing I've helped do the Rennlist community a favor. There's a tremendous amount of knowledge and help here, but not when you act like a db in your "can anyone help me by sharing their knowledge" thread.
I was simply letting you know that I would likely have a set of the 380mm brakes you posted that you were consideribg for your upgrade. Sam let you know that I was a reputable seller.
The correct response to those two posts would have been "Thanks guys, that's great and I may be interested, so keep me posted". Had you just been polite and done that, you likely would have received the technical answer you were seeking by now, but as you've observed, no one wants to help someone with such an abrasive attitude, so to you as well.

As for "professionals", do you not think folks here that already own one of these vehicles (or several of the brand, over many decades) hasn't already been regularly talking to these "professionals" to which you allude? Please, spare us the posturing.
There's a proverbial shovel in your hands. Stop digging. The hole you're going to be pouring money into (the Porsche) isn't going to get any shallower if you keep digging it deeper with nonsense like that.
Or not.
There's not a ton of enthusiast forums for these vehicles, good luck carrying that chip on your shoulder into the others.
