3 cars is not enough- the Ultimate 5 Car Modern Porsche Collection
Title says it all. Dream big, invest right, tuck your 911s in at night.
rules: modern means since 2013 aka 991.1 until now. Someone else can start an 'all time' thread if they want. ROAD CARS ONLY Y'ALL.
surprised myself that even trying to put the 991.2 GT2RS on here, I could only do it in the context that I'd have to use it as my track car and therefore it needed the Manthey kit. But then I decided I don't want to carry 2 gallons of distilled water everywhere so F it. 992 3RS FTW.

- 2016 911R- in black- can sit in garage and make it out for those perfect 65F days of ripping around with pals on crunchy fall leaves. the out of towner.
- 2024 Spyder RS, over the 2019 speedster for me. rip through the twistiest mountain roads you can find. and bring a friend! top down stunner. go deaf one mile at a time.
- 2023 Sport Classic, over a manual GT3 992 for me, in blue.
- 2023 Dakar, nothing else like this! Daily, bad weather, groceries, skiing, whatever.
- 2024 GT3RS nothing else with the real downforce, it's pretty amazing to experience on the track.

my personal offering is as follows:
- 2021 Cayenne TurboS eHybrid - all rounder SUV practicality and yet when in launch mode faster than some super cars and more than a few 911 models - currently rocking 1100 miles on the current tank of gas with 2/3rd's of a tank left and last fill up was Aug. 14th
- 2022 Turbo S Cab - for those sunny california days and one of the few cars that can beat the Cayenne off the line when pressed to do so
- 2023 911 GT3 - fully decked for track duty as the nearly ultimate track weapon - although an RS would be nice
- 2024 Macan Turbo EV - partner to the Cayenne such that my wife and I have two "practical cars" and two "recreational" cars
but again I love CJ's take and when putting together collections like this I honestly believe it's hard to go wrong…

There is no wrong choice as any car that makes you happy is the right car, but I just don't get Sport Classic at all - seems like a mutilated Turbo to me. Dakar is very cool, but I'd probably never drive it - offroad I'd take Cayenne, and on paved roads, the rest of the cars would be much more appealing. But where I live paved roads are good enough to daily-drive even the RS, and unpaved roads would likely be too rocky for Dakar because even 2019 Cayenne Turbo struggled with 21" wheels and I had to downgrade to 20" (luckily they made the tire profile taller on the 2024+ models). So as much as I like the idea of Dakar, it would be too much of a master of none for my use cases.

- 981 Spyder w/buckets & Burmester, because… manual, lightest weight, best looking and best sounding Spyder, manageable convertible rooftop, Goldilocks suspension and clutch pedal feel, feels great at all speeds not just 10/10ths, best top down Porsche driving experience possible.
- 992.2 GT3 Touring, the one in the release videos today (Oak Green Neo, silver wheels, new folding buckets and rear seats, NO lightweight package), because… ultimate elegant under the radar 911 gentleman canyon carving race car.
- 911 50th Anniversary in either of the special colors, manual, 18-way sport seats with black leather and houndstooth centers, Burmester audio, sunroof delete, rear wiper. Ultimate numbered modern classic 911 road car.
- 987.2 Cayman R, manual, buckets, stock. because… most beautiful pure Cayman ever.
- 992.1 Targa Heritage edition in Cherry Metallic Red with heritage interior. Ultimate luxury 911 cruiser to see and be seen in.

Spyder RS - beautiful lines, wonderfull engine, remarkable balance and compliance
991.2 GT3 Touring - curvaceous, understated, well judged suspension for real world use, the beginning of the 4L engine that worked as opposed to the one that didn't
991.2 GT3 RS - Set the bar, the last genuinely useable GT3 RS and gives very little up to any 992 with a chassis that can handle significantly more power and torque hence the 991 GT2 RS
982 GT4 RS - its slightly mad and also deafening but a huge amount of fun in perhaps the most rigid chassis Porsche have produced
981 Cayman GTS - left field pick, why? unfiltered sound track, lively 3.4 NA engine, beautiful mid-engined weight distribution, excellent real world compliance on most roads, compact and a genuine go any where do anything sports car. The 981 so good looking they never materially changed the look.
