Default TPMS System Not Active

I have a 2008 Cayenne S and have a TPMS warning - "System Not Active." I get no reading from any of the four wheels. Any thoughts or experiences with a similar problem?

Thanks

Did it work previously? Do your wheel have sensors in them?

TPMS have internal batteries that will eventually die, and thus require replacement. Consider yourself fortunate that your original TPMS batteries lasted this long. Replacement TPMS units are not inexpensive.

Tried the reset - did not work. I think it would be a weird coincidence for all 4 batteries to go at the exact same time, no?

Yes it would. However small, the chances are that it is possible. Needs to be hooked up to PWIS or durametric (or I think even VAGCOM would communicate) to see why the message is there. I know on my 04 Touareg you could actually shut off the TPMS. not sure if that is possible on the 08's

I had the same problem one time. Your really need a PIWIS to reset it and it will also tell you the battery life of the sensors!
