So I've looked around for the recommended "professional installer" and nobody wants to even touch this thing. Looks like I have to try and install it myself, which is tough without any instructions.

Hoping to get some help here:

I have a 2004 CTT w/ BOSE

I know that I will have to unclip the Fiber Optic cables and put them into the MOST adapter. What the hell do I do with the Yellow and Blue connections? Am I to use all of the cable harness that I received with this thing?

Does this install require any wire splicing?

I don't remember those two connectors, but you will definitely have to splice power to the most box. Good luck!

molitoth,

no one really responded to me either haha when I realized the 400-500+ installers were asking for seemed ridiculous and I decided to do it myself(and luckily I stepped back for a second and the installation ended up being easy).

I have a 911 so it may be a little different but essentially your android head unit should have came with like 3 or 4 different type of power adaptors. Only one will fit with your stock porsche head unit harness.

All those wires you have there (aside from the antenna/gps ones) were all plugged in to a square box connecter right? Just plug them back in to that box connector and then the box connector plugs in to one of the android power plugs. Thats power DONE !! the unit should now power on and function. the GPS/ Antennae may fit in the back of your android headunit ,if they don't then you need to purchase the fakra antenae harness if the android unit didn't come with one. If the stock GPS wire won't fit in the android unit then just use the one GPS unit that came with the android harness, it seems to work fine.

The only actual wiring you should have to do is for the MOST box. It only needs a ground and a switched acc wire. This is where you will want to look at your fuse box and make good connections otherwise you will have the alternator whine. The plug with the two circle holes in your picture is the MOST connection, plug that in to the MOST box.

The yellow and blue connectors are standard European radio connections. All the Becker units have them. I just replaced the CDR-220 in my Boxster and went through the same thing. The only stumble I had was that the 'power antenna on' in the Becker corresponded to the 'amplifier on' in the new head unit, so that the amplifier knew to power up. Until I figured this out, I had lights and function but no sound.

Ok. To the possible start of my Seicane horror story.

I took the head unit to a professional installer. They plug the head in for 2 minutes and let it turn on...

It starts to smell like burnt electronics.... and the unit is so hot to the touch it will burn the hell out of your fingers within a minute of powering on. You could cook a steak on this thing.

I'm about to message Siecane, but I'm furious.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck! I forgot how many dozens of emails it took me to get my new most box, but it about drove me bananas. They must have no quality control process.

I noticed some of you are on the android 4.4 that you upgraded to the newer iq navi firmware. Does anyone have a link to the IQ Navi for someone whos device already came with android 6.01?

I also have a porsche 997.2 unit and not the cayenne but my android firmware looks exactly like all the ones you guys have.

I installed nova launcher on mine and got some better apps, but I dislike the built in radio app and bluetooth and music apps and like the gui of the IQ Navi much better.

I've wanted an Android unit in my P!g for a couple years, but it's posts like this that keep me from, pulling the trigger.

Some videos I've seen show the Android setup being an overlay, or separate input, along with the existing Porsche system. Is that how it works? Or does it entirely replace all of the PCM systems?

wkearney99 : no this headunit completely replaces the PCM. It has android installed on it and depending on which one you get it will either have android 4.4 or android 6.

This replaces only the actual PCM headunit in the dash. You will more or less have GPS/RADIO/MUSIC/etc on the new android unit. You will lose whatever PCM options you had on the pcm headunit but you can still access these functions from the tach info area.

Also since no one answered my earlier question, incase anyone else is wondering the iqNAVI firmware was created by a russian developer and its called RED-MOD.

the website for it is:
https://firmware-an21.wixsite.com/re...;-R16---4-Core

he sold his firmware to iqnavi and he now sells the same one on his forum, you have to pay 20-30 bucks for it depending on if you already had the old version or are installing it fresh. He doesn't support the 4.4 version anymore which is available free and he has released an android 6.0.1 version. I sent him money on PayPal for the 6.01 version since thats the stock android version I already had, and I was given a link to download it from his website. I downloaded it and flashed it very easily(less then 5 minutes) . It definitely makes the unit more functional and aesthetic looking. Since he makes this firmware himself he also updated it so you can change the color themes and buttons etc to your choice of colors without having to download all these extra aftermarket plugins, I liked this bit because I had downloaded a few different launchers prior to doing the red-mod (nova etc) and while they give you a bunch of options its very annoying trying to update this all on the device itself while in the car.
So finally after 2 months of waiting for this thing and installing all these little parts I'm basically done and back to a working car, with a rear view camera, GPS, bluetooth, etc. just gotta figure out where to place the bluetooth mic (since I have a 911 and the space is more limited on where to hide it.
