Default Manual Gearbox Fluid for Cayenne - MT90, Max-Gear, Pentosin, Porsche?

Hello Gents,

Would rather NOT blow $50 per Liter on "Porsche" Manual 6Spd. Gearbox fluid to service. (If I can help it).

2010 Cayenne 4.8L GTS 6-Spd. Manual. Not a Turbo. 80K Miles and absolutely LOVE this rig!!!

Any EXPERIENCES with Redline MT90, R.P. Max-Gear 75W-90, some Pentosin or Motul product, etc?

If 75W-90 is what's called for then Royal Purple or RedLine should be regarded as Very Capable Stuff, No?

Standing By and Thanks Very Much for your input.

Redline recommends their 75W90 NS GL-5 Gear Oil and some have used the MT-90 but it doesn't have the extra extreme pressure additives the 75w-90 does. The Porsche fluid is Burmah BOT 338 SAE 75W Porsche part number 000.043.300.38
I'd go with the Redline 75-90 NS. There is a difference between the regular Redline 75w-90 and the 75w-90NS. I think the NS has more friction modifiers which should help with the Syncros operation. The modifier is intended for the clutches in a Limited Slip transmission.

hahnmgh63: THANKS very much! Ordered the "NS" and on the way.

All drive train fluids and Engine oil would cost $1,000 at Dealership from quote. I will get all done for $245.00 in fluids and a filter in the driveway. Pretty good savings.

Autohausaz sells aisin atf for our transmissions for $6.39 a liter. Since they make our transmissions, aisin should be a safe bet. I wouldn't be surprised if porsche just private labeled it.

The Manual transmission I believe is a ZF box, Aisin only make the Automatics (Tip).

75W90-NS from Redline operates beautifully in up shifting / downshifting / double clutch downshifting , etc.
Perfect fit in operating characteristics across full range.

Old stuff was really dark ( almost Black)and certainly ready for Change!

Thanks very much.

I did a search before I started a new thread. I have many questions about this effort. What was the capacity? Where is the drain and fill? Do I fill until it spills out like other gear boxes? What fluid did you go with?
