And yes, they will honour the warranty.
Well, that's alot better than what I was thinking.
But, it still sucks....

The 955 has never left me stranded even with all the mods done to it. It's the third time with the 957 w/o mods (well, okay, a mild tune...).
Glad it was nothing serious.
I hate to admit that I don't believe I would have thought to check for a blown fuse either.
I wonder what caused it to blow?

I would be very careful about the "mild tune.." it sounds from your description as if the turbos suddenly went into full boost under conditions they shouldn't have - and perhaps created enough power in the engine that it basically self-destructed. It's a case where I'd want a stock tune at least until I was certain the engine was reliable.

I really want to ditch my PCM as well but wonder about the longevity of these cheaper Chinese units. Keep us updated on this after you've used it for a bit. Thanks!

Good Grief - unless I'm missing something Lupo's 2008 CTT has now blown 3 engines in the space of this blog post?

I'm hoping someone will chime in and say 'gee, rough luck, it sure is NOT normal to have this much trouble with these vehicles' or something to that effect?!

One engine was like an internal grenade went off, another is scored cylinders, the third is ???

As a potential CTT purchaser - the 6x repair costs over the cost of the unit is scaring the crap out of me!! What is the math here - buy the rig for X and then drop 6X into it for repairs? How do you budget for THAT?!!? How much was each engine rebuild?

Those Landcruisers are looking better and better after wading thru this awful story - so sorry Lupo - you still seem to remain sane, not sure how you accomplish that?!!?
