PCM Screen Goes Blank
My PCM screen went blank the other day. I called the stealer and they told me it was a "glitch", to turn the vehicle off and lock it, wait a while and it will come back on. It worked, but there must be a fix for this "glitch"? Anybody else have this (I have a 958)?

On only one occasion, and weeks after having the battery replaced, mine reset itself while driving and displayed the Porsche welcome splash screen. Afterwards, the music resumed and the incident has yet to repeat itself to date.

at least your pcm doesnt go tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick for minutes like its trying to an eject a cd over and over and over and over even though there isnt one in there.

When was the last time the PCM software was updated? There was a recent PCM update campaign around June (WF27 Workshop Campaign)... you get that one?

I have a 955 and in nearly 4 years of ownership I have taken it to a stealership a total of zero times. Maybe there is an argument for getting updates for everything but it'll probably cost $500 for the privilege.

I got the blank PCM screen on the Cayenne today on second start up of the day. Restart restored the screen. While blank the Satellite radio continued to function. I wonder if this is a software glitch or the screen is starting to fail.

My car was in for service today. After describing the blank screen the tech suggested the car's initialization sequence might have interrupted. He said to allow some time after entering the car before starting it. We'll see.

I have a different happening with my PCM, my screen comes on with the Porsche logo but the navigation lines show then if you change the station the imprint stays and build each different command. So you really don't know what your doing. Everything functions but the nav because you can't see it but I know it's trying. I think my screen is bad.
The troubling thing is it will come on and cycle after the car is locked for the night, the winter cold and the PCM cycling drops my battery low enough the get my low battery warning to come on and my fan for the heat won't work till the voltage comes back up.

Seems like this is a fairly resilient Porsche issue. My 2004 Turbo would do it also. Always came back a few seconds later at the same place in the menu and playing the same track..
Just waiting for my 2016 Hybrid to start doing it now.

Screen went black on the way to work this AM. Checked fuses, stopped and started the car, let it sit in my lot for an hour no solution. The problem, I didn't lock the doors when off. Locked my doors for the next 15 minutes and the PCM lit up like nothing had ever happened. Thanks for the post.
