Skip the W12, I have one in an A8 and it is a nice smooth Torquey engine but without Turbos it will never match the CTTS or even my 4.2 Audi RS6. The W12's have been known to be reliable engines and are the basis for the W16 in the Bugatti Veyron, but with 4 Turbos and 1000HP.

If I was going that far to fit in anything other OEM, I would add this to my Cayenne.

Obviously the w12 is a NA gas engine. The v12 tdi is a different beast.

Your talking about fuel system changes as well as all of the involved electronics, a huge project.
Have you taken the time to figure if you made the same changes to the v10 tdi? stage 2 cam upgrade turbo wheel easy

V6 Cayenne Diesel 3L 239HP/406lb-ft torque
V8 Cayenne S Diesel 4.2L 375 hp/627 torque
V10 Touraeg Diesel 309HP/553 torque, bad MPG and a nightmare to maintain: https://jalopnik.com/the-volkswagen-...are-1822934503

There is also a a Q7 V12 6L diesel 500HP/738 lb-ft torque: https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/...to/first-drive

The difference in torque between diesel and gas shouldnt be understated...while a Turbo S might have more torque on paper, its available much later. Diesel give more torque much earlier, and I cannot say enough good things about our V6 Cayenne Diesel. Plus, 35+mpg on highway (and this is without a tune). I have always thought Id import a V8 diesel and drop it in a Cayenne one day...

What about a LS swap? Since people throw those in everything can it be done in a cayenne?
