Now that I've got my truck running right, I want to swap all of the fluids (tcase, tranny, and diffs). Does anyone have any long term experience running redline fluid in their CTT?

 

I use redline in my Harley. Primary case and transmission only. The engine builder and top fuel racer wanted me to use it, he was the fan. I have no other experience.

 

I've used it in plenty of hondas, as well as my old 944s. I just want to make sure it will be fine in the long run for my 04 CTT

 

Anyone?

 

Search in some of the tranny/diff fluid/transfer case threads, I know it's been brought up before.

 

I run 100% Redline fluids in my’06 4x4 Dodge Ram diesel. My ’09 CTTS services are done by the dealer and they put in Mobil-1 per Porsche specs, but any replenishment between changes I add Redline. IMO; Redline makes fantastic lubricants. Unlike Mobil; Redline oils are a true "full" synthetic oil. Plus, Redline is high ester base, which contributes greatly to withstanding thermal breakdown, and keeping your engine clean. I should really have my indy put 100% Redline im my CTTS too.

 

I've been using Redline in my Audi's and Porsche's for years. Have been used it in the CTTS for over 3 years. I swapped all of the fluids to Redline. Engine 5w-40, tranny & transfer case D4 ATF, front & rear Diffs to 75w-90 GL5. Surprisingly, the Diffs OEM fluid wasn't looking too good after only 25K miles. Tranny was a little better but I'm happy with my choice.

 

Hahnmgh63, how many miles have ya put on it with the new fluids? Did ya notice any improvement in how it ran or shifted or fuel economy?

 

Seemed to shift better, at least when cold. I have put about 40K on the Pig since I swapped out the fluids.

 

I just replaced the transmission, rear diff, front diff, and transfer case with the redline recommended oils last summer. I have been using them in my BMWs for decades. why not use them?

I can post which ones, don't recall at the moment, but still have some remaining in the garage...

 

I'd change if I had a problem...but I've never had a problem in any car which was attributable to the fluids I was using.
