Dear Porsche...
With the launch of the new Macan, a refresh of the Cayenne is in order. Here's what I would like to see in the 2015 models:
You can do it!
Sincerely
A PIG owner
- PDK Option with a "no offroad" disclaimer
- New tail lights similar to the Macan
- Larger Mirrors
- New door "hinges" kinda like the Panny's strut like system.
- A wider rear door opening
- Reposition the rear wiper under the spoiler - a la Range rover and Lexus
- An improved exhaust sound
- A lift gate that can be CLOSED w/ the key
- A high resolution rear camera
- Camera and parking sensors STANDARD
- The ability to add roof rails later. This pisses me off
- A MF steering wheel w/ PADDLE shifters just like the Macan
- A larger, higher resolution PCM Screen. 7inches in a sports car is fine, not so in the larger models
- Additional cupholders above the glove box like a 911
- More USB outlets in front AND rear
- Increase the depth of the rear seat cushions. Its so short for adults
- Increase the range of motion of the rear seat backs
- A tab or pull of some sort on the rear armrest
- Additional air vents in the rear, perhaps in the B pillars
and of course this goes w/o saying MORE POWER and LESS WEIGHT!
You can do it!
Sincerely
A PIG owner

Well as long as you know not to hold your breath
I would add:
Hatch glass that opens.
Rear seats that fold flat and level with the cargo bay.
Ditch the PCM garbage and get an interface that is more in line with the rest of the world.

At least in the price arena for the V6 and diesel, HIDs were an option on everything I looked at and not even an option on some brands. Porsche was the most expensive to add it though (unless you look at the Explorer where you had to get the top package that took it to around 50 or 55!!!).

How about building an engine/trans that doesn't blow up 20 min after warranty expires?
How about building a Porsche but have a Hyundai warranty?
And a word of warning. If Porsche quality decreases and becomes par with VW, your done.

Everything from Volvos, Volkswagens, Jeep Cherokee, Toyota Corrolas, Chevorlet Impalas, and 366 other models now come with standard HID or LED!

the new facelift cayenne is just a refresh. headlights/tails/bumpers/slight option and interior changes and engine changes..
look at the new panamera changes, that's what we'll get.. and it's this coming fall as a 2015 model year..
the new facelifted cayenne launches same time as the base model macan (makes me think they might delay the v6 cayenne to promote base 4cyl macan sales (we will see))
they are smart to offer S and turbo macan first cause otherwise people would just order the bases.

Glad things are changing if your list is right. HIDs are a must have for me as it's literally a night/day thing.

I think the whole industry needs to move away from these proprietary systems with overpriced piecemeal options. Look how much an iPad or Android device can do for a fraction of the price ... and so much more elegant! Would be nice to just airplay my iPhone to the screen/speakers. Maps, compass, Email, SMS, streaming music, video's, and a million other apps and regular updates all for free! Ridiculous how the auto industry is trying to re-invent these one at a time with such poor results.
Agree completely. While PCM isn't the worst of its ilk, there simply is no need for completely different systems doing the same thing at the OS level.
