What size wheels and tires do you have? Are they 20x9.5? I'm looking at those but I love your tire size and fit. Did you have to use any Spacers? I have an 09 base model.
The way to tell if it is wheel, or engine related is whether the vibration follows road speed (wheels) or engine speed (engine or driveline).
Mine did at first feel like a wheel balance vibration, but only between 1100 and 1300 rpm. So for example in the followings cases:
- accelerating from idle and passing 1100 rpm
- deaccelerating and comming down to idle passing 1300 rpm
- doing around 45 mph in traffic which is around that rpm.
- and being stopped in neutral, and reving engine to exactly 1100 rpm and holding it there.
I could feel it in the steering and car in general (again just like wheel balance issue)
I have a page of mechanics notes in French on repairing the issue on the work-order, can summarise/translate it and type it up when I have some time if it would help you.
Can you be a bit more specific on the engine vibration you had with your cayenne. I may have the same problem and thought it was unbalanced wheels. I had the dealer road force balance the wheels twice and still have this vibration issue on my 2011. Would you happen to have any notes the dealer left about the down pipes?
