Default 2008 GTS cayenne oil?

I have a 2008 GTS 957 and have a low oil warning after driven for 1200 miles need to add a 1qt but don't know what kind of mobile 1 (0w 40w or 5w 40w)? I thought the manual read 5w 40w for GTS cayenne.

Either 0-40 or 5-40 should be fine.

RULE: ANY oil is better than low oil.

As Frank P said - either should work just fine.

I use 0w40 out here, but as was mentioned already, any oil is better than low oil.

Many owners have gotten in the habit of keeping an extra quart or two in the storage compartment on the left side of the cargo area.

This^^^

Mine has not burned oil except for one time on back roads in Utah with lots of passing and high temps.

Mine never used any oil between 15k km oil changes, but I always had some oil handy for the 05 turbo.

Realize the oil capacity of the P!g is ~9 qts. so adding 0w40 to existing 5w40 or 0w40 to existing 5w40 is going to make an insignificant difference. As others have said getting the oil up to proper level is far more critical. Best of luck.
