Time for a new creation
I have been kicking the idea around the pass few weeks about doing an all out race cayenne. I been loosely looking for and 03 04 cayenne turbo around a hundred plus thousand miles on it. One that is priced in the low 20's im kinda rough visual shape to make a track rat out of. I will change all the hood fenders doors and hatch to carbon fiber and do major upgrades to the motor as well. This is all in the " beging thought process" of the build now. But not by no means looking for a "clean" on should be easy to find one ...lol. The two stock turbos will prolly be dumped for to gt40R turbos. Also how much boost on a stock bottom end can the motor handle ?? I got a long way to go on the idea but in a year hope to have it close to done. I will use it to try and shatter a record at Langley speedway in Hampton Va. And take the record from a honda. I was looking for a awd turbo car, but I noticed that the early cayenne turbos are close to the same price. All input is welcome I would love to share the whole build with you all!!!

Subscribed to see the build, but I think you will have your hands full trying to out pace some of the SRT's that have been built. Have you seen the one that kicked *** at one-lap years back complete with a massive roof mounted wing looking like a dirt oval sprinter? Lol, it looked like it was sourced from a commercial jet.
Assuming the record you want is for SUV, nobody is going to beat the evo's that are well over 1000 hp and much lower CG, weight with any SUV.
What's your budget? What's the class?

Here's 03 CTT for sale located in NorCAL I tested drove it a couple weeks. It's in excellent shape 83K all the main updates have been done on it. Owner is cool, you should give him a call.

There's an amazing '928 RS' build thread over on the (duh) 928 forum. He's not messing too much with the engine or suspension, but he's lightened the heck out of the chassis and interior. The goal is to build the 'drive it to the track, win in it, drive it home' version of the 928 that Porsche didn't. Might be some useful ideas in there.

It is actually an open oval track Wacky Wednesday run type thing every week. Everything for SRT8 Cherokee's .srt 4 neons to STI to 85 montey carlos ( run what you want type of thing). I ran my stock 06 turbo s around and got in the low 20.11 seconds around my twitchy 951 was around a 21.3 seconds and the record im heading for is 17.1 by a honda hatch. I just wanted a good turbo all wheel drive car to build from because the track is very short. All the sti and evos I saw where around the price of a Cayenne I found for 15,400 I think its in Texas can't remember currently. But figured what the hell I done crazy 951 so why not a complete monster of an already awesome suv to take the record from a honda ...haha.
Now with all that being said is my next question if I go with this build and hunt for the perfect ctt to build should I finish my 77 930 before or push it back another year ( complete resto and remodded it) it has sat for a while .
Also what are the boost limits for the cayenne motor before having to go into it which is prolly what I will have to do. Also the amount of weight you think I will lose dropping the doors fender hood and hatch to carbon fiber... also most of the interior planing on fashioning an RS type interior panels for it.

Since I guess you will open top of the engine (to upgrade cams, injectors etc.), you can go for a not-so-clean p!g. if the interior is in decent enough shape, I guess you'll be able to sell a lot of the parts you take out.
Btw, think about shortening the final gear ratio w/ GTS diffs

Drifting
I did some research several years ago, and from what I remember builders were saying that the stock internals were good for about 650hp. A friend of mine put a 150hp shot of nitrous on a 2005 CTT for about a year or so, and it had no issues (the transmission did eventually die, but I think that was unrelated).
