2008. I targeted the first year of the second gen CTT. First year because I thought that was the least expensive of that sub-model run, but mine still has a year of CPO left too. I greatly preferred the 2008 or up based on an article in Excellence.

I have driven both 1st gen vehicles. The touareg feels numb, vague and over boosted in the steering feel dept. It did still feel planted and secure on the road. The cayenne drives like a smaller vehicle and provides a lot more driver feedback. I dont care what they are powered by. You can reach the limits on a curve at 40mph.. rates of acceleration do not provide the key reason to own a cayenne over a vw. Its how they feel to drive. Touareg feels forgettable and big.

You have low range and a locking centre differential.

Yeah you were on point. In general people have commented in a manner that disregards the generations. Which creates an unfair mix and match.

Btw for all practical purposes the gen "2" cayenne (957) is still gen 1. There really were only two real generations of each platform.

Yet the TT element in the C was the overriding consideration. This is a 'bucket list' car ownership ever since I saw that C blast the autocross course.

<groan> WTF is a 'parking sensor'? The P.O. was clear that I will get all manuals and a service record as well as a fuel log.

I think I'm going to need to read all of these. What does a parking sense? It doesn't even sound like a human concept.

It senses the distance from the bumper to the object in front or behind you. They can be useful when learning the vehicles corners.... There are green yellow and red lights that indicate where and how close an object is. Mainly used when parking....

......this is just going to exhibit my own form of lunacy.....I read the manual cover to cover BEFORE I bought one! That way while shopping for a used one (many years ago) I would know EXACTLY what features I was looking at and if they worked properly or not.

Gosh, what an idea. I guess once I have the car sized, I can remove these sensors and use them as fish finders.
