Default Cayenne Turbo Coolant tank leak... DIY anyone?

I have a 2005 CTT and am looking to see how difficult a DIY is to replace the coolant expansion tank (will do the air filters at the same time). The dealer wants 2 hours labour to do it and my indy wants the same... so if I can save a couple hundred bucks on a DIY then I am happy to attempt, but I can't find one anywhere... help please!

There is a bolt down by the Engine Torque rod (Torx I think), and you have to remove the right headlight to get and the side bolt which is a 15mm or 17mm socket and a long bolt. Two hoses plus the over flow. A fairly easy job and you won't use loose much fluid, probably only need less than a 1/2gallon of fluid/water or even less if you can catch what's in the tank, although it may be time to flush your coolant.

Took me an hour. I did not have to remove the headlight just the air-box. The reservoir was $75.

I appreciate the replies folks... would be awesome if I didn't have to remove the headlight that`s for sure. I can get the reservoir for about $80 but def didn`t want to pay the near $300 in labour if I can do it myself in a couple hours...
I found a complete DIY for replacing the air filters... is this the same process with a few extra steps after the air box portion?
If there is any way you would be willing to take the time to do me a slightly more in depth step by step guide it would be much appreciate.. (where is the torque arm located etc..)

Also, for topping up the coolant I have been using the pink stuff you can get at Walmart that says on the back of the bottle it is Porsche approved (among other import brands). Is there any negative impact this could have vs using the $50/gallon Porsche stuff?

Someone on Renntech sent me a link to this with pics, looks great... can anyone let me know how important it is to actually use the Porsche coolant though vs the pink generic stuff that says it is Porsche approved, thanks

On my 05CTT the coolant tank is behind the engine torque support by the windshield. I can't see the reason to remove the headlight.

Just an update on this. I performed this DIY myself a few weeks back and it went off without a hitch.. AND I didn't have to remove the headlight or use any extra Coolant... went very smoothly and only took a couple hours.

It can be done without removing the headlight but removing the headlight is so easy, and it makes the job quicker. Remember the headlight just slides out on it's little trolley track, it is the way the factory say's to do it.

Remove headlight instructions:

Step 1 - Turn unlock post
Step 2 - Remove headlight.

If someone timed me at a normal pace, I'm pretty sure it would take less than 10 seconds to do those steps.

Reviving an old Thread.

Does anyone know the original manufacturer for the Coolant Expansion Tank - 955 106 147 23?

The Porsche part in the UK is about £110 - US$140

There are tanks by Valeo, Meyle etc that are less than half the price.

Original tank has a VW part number - 7LO 121 407 E
