Replacement of the CDR-23 begins
After a lot of online research and a few posts on this forum, I am comfortable with beginning this project. I have a Non-Bose; CDR23 equipped 2006 Cayenne (V6) and just ordered the following components and parts for this install;
Pioneer AVH-P4400BH 7" In-Dash HD/DVD/USB Touch screen Receiver, Bluetooth Equipped, HD Radio with iPhone & iPod control:
$379.00 (eBay)
Porsche Cayenne Double Din Installation Install Mount Trim Dash Kit:
$83.99 + $4.99 shipping (eBay)
Parking Brake Bypass Override for Pioneer AVH-P4400BH:
$8.99 (eBay)
Wiring Harness Adaptor with built in Interfaced Steering Wheel Control for Pioneer (Connects2 CTSPO001 & Pioneer PATCH LEAD PORSCHE Steering Wheel Interface):
$64.35 (UK eBay)
Rear View Reversing Camera for Porsche Cayenne (replaces one stock license plate light).
$27.50 (eBay)
I will update this thread with information and pictures as I go.

Great head unit. I just replaced my stock Navi Bose HU with the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH. Same as yours but it has dual iPod control and Advanced App Mode. I used the Nav TV MOST HUR unit to retain the Bose amp. Sounds great!
Good luck!

Yea...I looked at the AVH-P8400BH and decided I did not need the extra options. I am excited about this install. What mounting kit did you use? They average $100.00, so I went with the replacement trim plate I picture above. It will truely look stock with the trim I went with. Later...I will add the Infinity basslink and maybe upgrade the mids and highs (MB Quart), electronic cross over and a 4 channel amp. For now this will get me started.

Did you do the install yourself?

Three Wheelin'
Looks nice. Can't wait to see closeups of the finished install. "Clutch-n-Throttle", do you have any pics of your install? Are both using the same faceplate? I'm on my second PCM, a late '07 Ebay unit but of course, it occaisonally locks up or doesn't recognize the MOST bus, not often but once in a while. I've cleaned and reseated just about every connection so it is as good or better than most PCM's but of course it is still a PCM.

Looks like I might have a problem. The company I bought the wiring harness with the steering wheel control interface...just told me it will not work with a US spec car stereo. I did not know there was a different model in Europe but sure enough. The European equal model to the one above is a Pioneer AVH-4400BT http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/pione...n-p-34704.html
Not sure what wiring harness to use now. Any ideas?

Wired it up and did a mock up to play with the new deck. Still waiting on a lot of parts.
I was very happy the steering wheel control interfaced wiring harness worked. Tested the iPhone, bluetooth, DVD player, parking brake bypass and USB external functions. So far so good!
The sound quality, touch screen, and ease of use is top notch with this Pioneer AVH-P4400BH is awesome.
In the last picture you notice the two empty heated seat control holes. The left one is going to be used as the bluetooth mic with a modified factory switch (drilled) and the right is being filled with a flat black painted spare hazard switch.

I did have to purchase a CONNECTS2 PORSCHE CAYENNE DOUBLE DIN STEREO FACIA KIT for the housing and inside secure mounts. The one I posted above is just a trim ring that replaces the stock one.
$47.92 (eBay UK)
I added a mounting bracket and pass through docking iPhone mount to finish it off.
Porsche Cayenne Mobile Phone Bracket (mounts to the dash with no drilling).
$16.00 (UK eBay)
HIGH END IPHONE 4S PASS THROUGH CAR MOBILE CRADLE DOCK HOLDER MOUNT
$79.00 (US eBay)
To play video through the auxiliary port on the back of the deck it requires a iPhone cable with a 3.5 mm jack built in.
PIONEER AVH-P4400BH FULL SPEED CORD CABLE CD-IU201V CDIU201V for IPOD IPHONE
$12.30 (eBay)
That is about it for now.

Today's update; I received the antenna adapter, cell phone mounting bracket, and the spare PSM switch (for the microphone). As you see, I fabricated the PSM switch to mount the Bluetooth microphone and fill the hole. The right side will be filled with a painted hazard switch as a blank.

And with an 04 CTT Bose equipped would the install be harder? I've considered just getting the unit that replaces my cd changer.
