Where else are you going to plug your "tailgate blender" into?

Which "plug"?? Are you referring to one of the 12V outlets?

No it is a connector with a snap and lock type plug.

Default Tape deck changer running

I can't start a new post so I am tagging along on this one. Sorry

Can anyone tell which and where the fuse is for the tape deck changer in the back of my 2004 Cayenne S. When I turn off my key the tape deck changer keeps running for about 30 sec. and I have no tapes in it. I took the cartridge out. Sometimes when I open the door the deck starts turning or it sounds like it is running but nothing is turning that I can see or feel and the unit is hot like it has been running the whole time I have been driving. Has anyone else had this problem??

I would like to just take the fuse out and I will put it back in if I go on a trip and want to use it.

Any input would help

Default vinyl lp and 8 track changer

My rear jukebox with the vinyl lp and 8 track changer is hot all the time. Has anyone else had this problem? Plus it's always stuck on Neil diamond. Please advise.

my guess would be it is for navigation system? My Audi had a plug next to the changer as well and it was for the nav system.

Post a pic of the plug you are talking about. Year and model of Cayenne might help also.

He's talking about is CD (at least I assume since I don't know of a tape version...) changer issue that he hijacked this ancient unrelated thread for.

As for the question, why bother with a fuse (that likely has other things on the same circuit)? Just unplug the changer itself.

Sounds like the changer itself is going bad. I had an old Pioneer act like that in one of my old cars. Would do all kinds of weird things and get far hotter than the same unit in my wife's truck. I'd suggest not putting CDs you care about in it as you may not get them back in one piece (I lost a limited edition/impossible to replace CD to that unit). You're best bet is either replacing the changer or adding an AUX/USB interface to use a music player instead.

A perfect reason for only using back-up copies in vehicle CD players.

This was back in the day before duplicating CDs was something everyone could do and even if you could not all CD players played nice with CDRs

Thanks guys for answering. I was talking about the cd changer not tape deck. I was hoping to find a fuse that might only run the changer. I can pull the complete changer out, but it looks like some work there is not a plug I can see without taking the unit out. But that might be what I have to do. As I have post this question on 3 other Porsche broads with no results.
