Default Just joined 2004 Cayenne S

I am the original owner of a Cayenne (not cayman) S 2004 (bought in 2003) with 100k on it. The forum has been a great help to me. Just had the cardan shaft, coolant pipes, transmission filter and fuel replaced as well as a new starter. All preventative stuff as a result of the sharing of information here.

Engine was replaced at 30k under warranty in 2006, valve problem. Dealer did a nice job on it and all other recall items.

Other work, front wheel bearings, complete brakes replacement, magnets affecting the tiptronic. Thats about it.

I love the PIG and plan on keeping it for another 100k or more. I am not mechanically inclined so have an indie do the work and am happy with him.

Is there any other advice for me on maintenance, parts replacements. Still have the original water and fuel pumps. Change the oil every 10k.

Thanks again for sharing.

Bill

Welcome, but I'm confused. Do you have a Cayenne or a Cayman?

OK. I did the Google, and the Cayman doesn't have a cardon shaft and production started in 2006. So I guess it's either extremely rare or a Cayenne.

Thank heaven for Google!

Bill, welcome to the P!g pen. As you can see, witty banter is encouraged and sometimes not tolerated but those that are thin skinned. See Divot's sig line for a reference.

Seeing as you are from Ottawa, I suspect that you will fit in just fine!

Sorry , Cayenne of course, bit distracted here. Owned two 911s before, a 1999 911 and a 911TT 2001. Got the car back today and the bearings were bad on the shaft. The cooling pipes were fine, no leakage but replaced anyways.

I deserve the abuse, a cayman duh! Nice first post I must say.
