Maximizing Ride Comfort in a Turbo S: 20" to 19" wheels?
I'm looking to improve the ride quality when driving across railroad tracks, potholes, poorly paved streets. The smallest wheel the Turbo S will take is 19" due to the brake size.
I wonder how much ride quality improvement I get from trading the 20" wheels for 19".

I have Continental DWS on my 20s too. If you set it on "comfort" mode, it rides like a Cadillac, even with 20s.

I thought Turbo S brakes were bigger than regular Turbo and required a minimum of 19"...

Drifting
I have found Michelin Lattitude Sports to be far quieter and more comfortable than Pirrelli P Zero Rossos though ultimately inferior in performance. Based on this I use Michelin on the CTT daily driver and Pirelli on the GTS which I drive for kicks.

Air pressure makes a noticeable difference to me. I've been running 38 psi front and 42 psi rear cold unloaded weight for years.
Even a 2 psi +/- will be noticeable to me ...that and the air suspension setting on NORMAL for highway and set to SPORT for carving her around the twisty stuff.

The silver calipers on the Turbo will not accept 18's. PAG says that the 18's will not fit the GTS with red calipers but somehow they do. Bob had installed them as winters on his wife's GTS.

The silver calipers on the gen 1 Cayenne S and the red calipers on the gen 1 Cayenne Turbo are identical, except for the paint color. They will both take an 18" wheel with no problem. I think the Turbo S has bigger brakes. I'm not sure about newer Cayennes.

Three Wheelin'
On my CTTS I currently run Hankook Ventus R06 tires on the OEM 20" wheels but also have a set of 19" wheels with Continental Sport Contact 4x4's and the ride seems about the same. I think if your only changing by 1" then the tires make just as much of a difference as the 1" change in size. Look at Tire rack tests and see which Cayenne fitments rate higher in comfort. Of course you could go with 19's and the most comfortable tires and probably make a fairly large difference in your ride.
