Congratulations on your Cayenne. Just had my one year service at Sonnen on my 2011 v6 Cayenne. Had some special requests and received above average service as I did with my Cayman. Fantastic dealership.

Finally got the call from the dealer yesterday, and picked up my 2012 Cayenne Turbo last night! It took a shade under two weeks from hitting the port in Houston to arriving at my dealer in Colorado, for those of you tracking and waiting for yours to arrive.

The wait was tough, but as it has been said many times, it was well worth the wait to get a Cayenne built custom. First impressions are that the turbo is more of a beast than I remember from the test drive; the Bose system sounds amazing; and the PDCC is probably my favorite option I added at this point. A truly impressive vehicle.

So far I had a clear bra installed, front windows tinted to match the rest, and had 21" Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice tires mounted to the Turbo II's for the winter weather ahead.

Picked up the car last night! Love it so far! I will have a full review up soon but I am very happy with the beige interior. Drives great!

Default Cayenne Build Time

How long does it take to build a 2012 Cayenne S?

Ordered mine 12-28-11 and my build date is set for May 3, 2012...with a June 2012 deliver date. Should I hold these dates as true?

Thanks,
David

Seems a little long but not beyond the realm of possibility, just depends on your dealer's allocation. By this point they should be able to provide confirmation of your build date with an order number from the factory.

The last few weeks of waiting are the toughest!

I ordered 2012 Cayenne S Meteor Grey exterior/black interior. I may have got carried away with the options:

21" Turbo II wheels with wheel arch extension
18" collapsible spare wheel
PASM with air suspension
PTV Plus
Servotronic
Sports exhaust system
Porsche vehicle tracking system
Porsche entry & drive
Comfort memory package (14-ways)
Heated/ventilated front seats
PCM including navigation
Reversing camera including ParkAssist
Bose surround sound
Universal audio interface
Telephone module
Multi function steering wheel
4-zone climate control
Powerliftgate
Auto dimming ext/int mirrors
Bi-xenon lighting system including PDLS
Electric tilt/slide glass sunroof
Privacy glass
Floor mats
100 litres fuel tank.

Porsche only offer a 2 year warranty in the UK so I extended that by 1 year with the Porsche centre.
I paid the initial deposit on 19/3/2012. I've been told I will need to pay the remainder of the deposit in about 4 months with delivery about 2 months after that so early September. I used a Porsche centre as opposed to a traditional dealer and was also told that demand was sufficiently high that they would not offer any discount.

I'll be picking up my CTT May 18th. You are on the cusp of the 2013 model year. I believe you can order 2013 now. Cost went up some however. The PorscheUSA website allows actually forces you to order 2013 today. You should check. Your dealer should have told you if he/she didn't.

Anyone like the GTS over the Turbo?

The GTS gets you the Turbo looks, and the Cayenne S is great. But that's also $17K in body panels.

The Turbo gets you extra gusto, but that $25K premium is a lot if you already have a 911 to zip around in.
