Yea, the light definitely protrudes out with mine. Its just really odd that mine and yours are exactly the same item# but different light.

And I just double checked the box with the item# on them. They are exactly the item # that everyone else posted so far. I don't understand why Porsche would have the same item#'s if there are 2 different types unless they updated the clears to the larger ones. Just for reference, I just received my clears about 2 weeks ago.

As you can see from the bottom pic, mine looks exactly like mike's.
I think you're on to something. Maybe they did update the design on the clears. I ordered mine in late January. FWIW, take a look at the pics below from the Porsche website. The silver car is a base Cayenne while the black one is a Turbo. Both appear to have identical side markers and although it's hard to tell whether they are more like Apeture's and mine, or slwong's, they seem to be sculpted and protrude more than the yellow markers. Personally, I'm OK with the ones I have.

I just talked to Aldo from Suncoast and he told me that is the only item # that they have for the 2011 Cayenne and wasn't aware of different sizes. He thinks it might be a new design because that is the only part # for euro clear side markers for the cayenne from Porsche.

I also got mine from Suncoast. Also bigger than the original.

Odd that Porsche would keep the same part number if indeed it's a new design. Anyhow, I looked at mine for like the 5th time, and while you can't get an exact comparison of the 2 markers while one is in the vehicle, the clear still does not look any bigger than the amber.

Aperture, from the pic you posted, it seems it would be nearly impossible to not notice the size difference, whether in the vehicle or not. This is driving me a little nutty, but not to the point that I want to remove the clear out of the car.

Wonder if anyone else has the smaller clears?

I know I'm not in nearly as good a position to judge from a pic as you are in person. But looking at your photo, it seems to me that the curve at the trailing edge of the marker is pronounced and shorter; just like the clear in Apeture's photo, while his yellow marker is flatter and longer in the same area. Again, though, you're there and I'm just looking at a picture.

Here is a comparison of how much the clear protrudes. I reinstalled the amber (takes only 5 min) to show you guys. Sorry didn't have time to rotate pictures.

thats insane and makes no sense whatsoever.

esp since the "wide fenders" and "extended fenders" dont go near it.

can they check their stock and see if any slimmer ones? send back/swap.

I purchased clears from my local dealer and the part numbers I have are:

958 631 101 00
958 631 102 00

at the widest part they are just over 3cm.

Ok now I see different item#'s. Your item number ends with 00 mine and Mike's end in 10. That might be the difference right there. I will try to call suncoast tomorrow and clarify again.

Riddle solved for me guys, sorry... Dyslexia must have set in, as I missed the 00 at the end- my part #s match Blaine's.

That did not stop me from checking my lenses again, however. Suffice to say, I do feel a little better knowing that mine are likely the same size, as my amber lens measures a little more than 3cm wide.

Finally we see the difference. The only problem for me is that when I called Suncoast this morning they told me they've only had one item # for clear side markers. I also called my local dealer and they only have one item # for clears and that is the one that ends in 10 not 00.

Did you try Sunset? Maybe they are switching to a new part and phasing out the old...

Good news guys, the mystery is finally solved. Just spoke to Suncoast and there is indeed a part #

958 631 101 00
958 631 102 00

He was thankful for the info because he didn't even know there were two versions. He does not usually have those in stock and has to order them so I will be returning my clears and he will send the clears that end in 00 as soon as it comes in.

Suncoast has been great working with me and I definitely recommend them.
