Hi, first time poster here but have been reading for a while.
I am in the process of finalizing the build of my 2011 CS.
I have read a number of posts and see most are in favor of PASM.
But are there any owners who have taken delivery of a 2011 without PASM and what have been your day to day driving impressions of the car without this feature.
Thanks.

I have a new V6 without PASM, I believe the suspensions are identical between the 6 and the CS. I'm impressed with how well the truck handles with the standard suspension and agree with Rome's assessment. I can only imagine how much better it would be with some of the suspension upgrades...

I don't have it and I feel like it's not necessary to cart around my kids. I don't think the suspension is that stiff, but then again my trade-in was an RS4 so anything is an improvement. I test drove a 2010 GTS and a 2011 CS without PASM back to back, and the CS won handily.

I've been driving a Cayenne w/o PASM for 6 years now and I have no issue with the stiffness. Let's put it this way... Not as stiff as my 911, but not nearly as squishy as my wife's MB ML (which has a ton of roll and which I don;t really love driving).

I am strongly in favor of PASM, AS, PTV and PDCC in that order of most to least importance. But if all you do with the Cayenne is shuttle kids I would say WHY GET A CAYENNE (well actually there are other things going for it like reliability, styling, exclusivity, interior etc). But that is just me and I certainly respect my other fellow RL'ers opinion and valuable personal first hand experience. To me for a SUV to be truly worthy of a PORSCHE badge needs to handle as sharp and taut as PORSCHEs are known for. The CS with all the suspension goodies is nothing but a large 911. Now I am not saying that a Cayenne without any suspension upgrades is not a good SUV.

My on-order CS has PASM and the other suspension mods, however the CS that I test drove had none of them and I was impressed by the handling and ride of the stock suspension. My Pepper will replace an Audi S4 Avant and I wanted to match the sharp handling response of the smaller car. But it's not necessary to check every item on the option list to get a Cayenne that will still be very enjoyable to drive and satisfying to own. If PASM is in your budget, then great, but even if you pass on it you'll still have a car that will make you smile.

Excellent comment. I completely agree and there is enormous proof for that around here. No one is not happy with their Cayenne's performance. Be it with or without suspension upgrades. I just stated my opinion and would never underestimate the potential of a base Cayenne.

I agree with Mike's assessment too. My preference was to keep the sticker less than $85, and I decided, for example, that having the full leather at about $4K was something I'd enjoy more on an everyday basis than PASM (which I know is great, but for non-track driving, I'm not sure I'd miss it).

I didn't get it. My goal was the same as Rome's- keep it under 85k. I tested it without PASM as well. Not even close to as still as my 996tt was with track set up and not as stiff as the RS, but much better than my 5 series. I probably won't push it enough to notice, but I would like to drive one back to back with and without.

Thanks for all your responses. I am leaning a little towards PASM.
To make some room in my budget, I will have to delete the aluminum roof rails and comfort lighting package off my build.
oh well, lose some, gain some.
Regardless, I am looking forward to a great driving and ownership experience and participating in the forums.
