Default Considering a 2011 Cayenne V6

Hello everyone!

Just got back from a dealer. I was told that I can get the truck in about 3 months. However there's no discount from MSRP, and a deposit of 5k is required. Is this normal at the current time?

probably much better deals out there........I would wait.

And coming from an 06 base owner, you should buy a preloved cayenne S from a forum member just because the increased power and most standard costs have already been absorbed.

Shoot for an 06-10 Cayenne S.

We just took delivery of a 2011 Cayenne S - Ordered in July. Now - we have a long term, multi-car relationship with the dealer, but we ordered the car with no deposit. It listed for $91K and we got 6% off sticker.

I have a 2011 V6 I ordered in Sept and received at the end of Nov. Back in Sept, two local dealers had discounts of approx 5%. I believe 5K was the required deposit.

Given that Porsche is selling Cayennes like hotcakes worldwide, I think deals have tightened over what people were getting last summer and fall. When I ordered my CS in early December I was told that my dealership was selling them at MSRP because they were moving every one they could get their hands on. However, as a multiple repeat customer they offered me a 4% discount. Deposit was $5K, same as other Porsches I've ordered. You may want to shop around or wait until supplies loosen up if paying sticker is an issue.

I too ordered in late Sept, found 1 dealer willing to give 3% of my custom V6 order with a 2k deposit that he never actually charged. The 4 other dealers in the area I contacted would not discount the V6s at all as they couldn't keep them on the lot. Mine was a Dec build, due to arrive late next month.

I've been reading that the discounts were shrinking due to reduced allocation and lower production, so what you're hearing from the dealer sounds consistent depending on where you are located.

Shop around, be patient. Nobody should pay MSRP these days for any car even if it is highly desirable. Trust me you can get 3% off now or wait and try to stretch it to 5% in a few months. A discount ensures that it is a win-win situation for both parties. I got a 5 % discount in Oct 2010 but more dealers are selling them close to MSRP nowadays.

Trakcar, it would be next to impossible to get a 10% discount on a 2011 Cayenne unless it is a launch model that is sitting on the lot for over three months or so. 5 to 7 % off is a more realistic goal.

Got the only v6 I saw on the lot in November for a tiny discount, about 3% which included an early lease return. Could have been more patient but I felt good about getting it all done in about 3 hours. I drive by my dealer about four times a day and I've only seen one 2011 cayenne available on their lot since, a hybrid.

This was also my second car from this dealer. So I this means I my third one will be free

Did your build date change at least twice? I thought I saw a January 20th or 21st and prior to that December?

Launch vehicles as the name suggests are cars that are similarly optioned and are released to all the dealers at the time of a new vehicle model launch. Each dealer gets these so called demo vehicles. Depending on the color combo and how it is optioned these may or may not be that desirable. For example for the second gen 997 models the launch models where not very popular. One was a meteor-grey that had bucket seats (which is not everyones cup of tea) and the other one was the racing green exterior color (again which was not highly desirable for many). IIRC, one of these two cars did not have sports chrono (Riley, I don't want to even go there ... you know why). So when most of the left over '09s were going for 15% off, these two launch models where going for 20 to 25% off.

For the 2011 CTT this was one of the launch model configuration (you can recognize it in the option list with code S0C:

1NP - WheelHbCvr w/ColorPorscheCrest
4D3 - Seat Ventilation Front
S0C - Launch vehicle
CP5 - 20" RS Spyder Design Wheel
9VJ - Burmester©HighEndSurrSoundSyst
8T3 - Adaptive Cruise Control
7Y1 - Lane Change Assist (LCA)
7X8 - ReverCamera-ParkAssisFrontRear
7D7 - CD/DVD changer (6-disc)
EXT - TPMS
4F6 - Porsche Entry & Drive
3Y8 - ElecRollupSunblindRearSideWind
3X1 - Ski bag
1Y1 - PTV Plus
1D6 - TrailerCouplw/o RemovBallJoint
0AW - PDCC
4X4 - Rear Side Airbags
5ZF - PorscheCrestEmbFront/RearHdrst

IMO, the CTT launch vehicle did miss out on an important option the Pana roof which again may or may not be a big deal for many in the market.

Hope this clarifies things for you.
