I tried to use my oil extractor pump on the Cayenne last weekend and it only pumped out just under 7 quarts?

All my other cars and toys it gets 95+ % of the oil so I use it every other change and don't have to get dirty.

Oh well, sorry if this is a repost

there is no sump so what made you think you could suck oil out. I would search for oil change info before you break something.

Don't get all in a tizzy, I'm not going to break anything.
Perhaps the fact that there is a dipstick would be a clue that there is at least some type of sump.
Not to mention that I did get over half of the oil out.
No big deal, just replace what came out with fresh oil and I'll do a full replace in a few thousand miles.

Sounds like you got most out via using the oil extractor, was wondering is it because there are 2 engine oil reservoirs on 1st Generation V8 Cayenne?
I remember seeing 2 drain plugs; 1 reservoir (7gal) could be located right below there the dipstick is located, and another one is located somewhere near by but out of reach using the oil extractor.

A normal change with a filter is about 8 quarts so considering you didn't even have to get under the car and remove the underpanel, I would say thats pretty dang good. Obviously you want to change as much as you possibly can but I say

You still have to get under the vehicle to remove the front panel to replace the oil filter. At least up through the 2008 models there were two drain plugs, thus requiring to remove the front under panel and the one just behind it.
