My mom and dad bought a brand new Chyrsler New Yorker back in 1992 or so. They had the car for 2 months. It was in the shop 8 or 9 times and approx 40 out of 60 days. That was the last Chrysler product they ever purchased....when they traded it in for an Acura, the dealership told them it looked as if someone had dropped the New Yorker off of a ramp; the shocks and wheels were bent/towed (but no other damage physical damage could be assessed or proven)

Comparing the SRT8 to a Cayenne is silly. I consider the Cayenne to be more luxury and off road performer than a great drag strip performer anyway. The same could be said about the SRT8 vs X5....in any case, it sounds like the basic argument is,

"Why pay so much when you can buy something faster and cheaper?"

My answer is, go buy a crotch rocket if you value speed and value before all else. The SRT8 is a fast vehicle. It's a great cornering vehicle. It's not a luxury vehicle. Period.

I owned a SRT8 for about 3 months, I hated the POS. It had zero traction and was built for ****, as always I found myself back in a Porsche.

Damn that was easy! Just playing with ya's.

Of course they are apples and oranges.

But for the "because we can" and "you need to try one" people, read my sig and the "we" in the querstion - I own both.

Had to love some of the "passionate" responses though:

"No 4x4 in a Jeep??? That is just wrong!!!!!!" - Um, it's 4x4

"I owned a SRT8 for about 3 months, I hated the POS. It had zero traction" - think it pulled .92 on pad

I think Jay nailed it: "My answer is, go buy a crotch rocket if you value speed and value before all else. The SRT8 is a fast vehicle. It's a great cornering vehicle. It's not a luxury vehicle. Period."

Thanks for the chuckles!

I drove my pi oops, truck this past week to southern Oregon. It is a lot of fun to drive and it got 20 MPG over 650 miles. No tickets and it WILL keep up with traffic on 2 lanes in a very civilized fashion.

Never.
Hated the idea of the P!g from the start, especially Dr. W using the 911 as the reason for the P!gs existence.

That's alright, I did have some fun with the audio system...

I rented a Jeep Unlimited this week to use on Nantucket... Loved it and had a lot of fun with it driving through the dunes and on the beach, but it's no where near the quality product that the Cayenne is...

Um you do realize that a Wrangler and a SRT8 are very different things, right?

The best one IMHO though was BIGBUZUKI from AUS (where my son lives now) saying "Because we can"......with a f'ing 2003?????? ROTFLMAO

Yes, but an Australian 2003 is as rare and reliable as a US 2007 Cayenne.

Put 100k miles on the Jeep and tell me how tight the interior is vs. the Cayenne.
You will NEVER EVER get 100K miles out of a Jeep vehicle. Unless its towed miles behind a Motor home.

Secondly I cant beleive the question was asked. The Jeep will be so defunked, screws loose, rattle noises, messed up interior, leaking oil after they do the test drive on delivery that the owner doesnt get the 4 or 5 miles of "newness" out of it.

My inlaws bought a Jeep liberty and only after a few thousand miles it is a POC.
The answer is the same for the reason we dont own Z06's

Well since you are the comic here I hope you realize the Porsche and Jeep SRT8 are very different as well, right

You made a post trying to get a rise about a SRT8 comparing to a Porsche on a Porsche forum, go get a life.
