Default Sloshing Sound

Hey
I recently bought a CS 2003, 70k miles but soon after filling up with a 1/4 of tank of fuel I can hear a sloshing sound when braking and acellerating.

The noise is around the right side of the vehicle, its a RHD but I doubt porshce change the mounting of the fuel tank.

My thoughts were fuel tank baffles are gone... however im surprised as I cannot see any issues with this on the web.

Any other ideas or is this common?

Cheers
Miles

Any signs of water entry? I've had a few Cayennes where the plenum drains were plugged and the water got into the cabin. Then it went into the body cavity which created a sloshing sound. Put your head under it and look for plastic body plugs. They will be all lined up in a row, pull them off and see what comes out. You may want to wear gloves!

Hi
I took out the caps from the bottom undersill on the right side and water did come out.
A few liters however it did look like coolant water - not rain water.

Car runs fine tho, would this be a case of the common cracked pipes?
Perhaps mine were fixed and they didnt drain it?
Any ideas?

Zba- thanks, I havent driven it in a few years- currently getting it ready to sell. I wil try and put up some pics.

I've been hearing water sloshing around during low speed maneuvers and today removed the drain plugs on both sides.. a fair amount of water emptied and the sloshing noises are gone. So this is good news but it makes me curious about a couple things.

1. What is the purpose of the plugs? Why even have them there if only to help the car collect water in odd places? Why not leave the plugs off?
2. For water to accumulate there.. what is/are the point(s) of entry?
3. Is this normal and one is supposed to just let the water out every so often? (doesnt seem right)

thanks!

Any water is supposed to drain out other locations - unless, of course, the other drains are blocked. Any sign of wet carpets?

There hasnt been any water of the floor that I can tell. I have only had the cayenne for a couple weeks now. I guess now would be a good time to ask where all the other drain locations are. Is there a pdf floating around that diagrams them?

I'm new to Cayenne ownership and heard a sloshing when i drove it for the first time, it was when pulling onto the driveway at slow speed.

Where are the drain points that i should pull the plugs from please?

My Cayenne has factory steps, will that affect the removal of these plugs?

Thanks

Carl

My guess would be that they are there for shipping purposes, meant to be removed by PDI/dealer, and were over looked. What's concerning is that this seems to be a pretty common issue if there plugs were intended to be removed before delivery.

I get my CD tomorrow and I think I'll spend a bit of time looking at the underside and pouring water down the sunroof drains...

My Cayenne is steaming up inside now that the bad weather is starting to hit, will it be related to the sloshing that can be heard inside the passenger side of the car?

There are those six plugs under the car. Try draining and see if it helps.

Could you tell me where they are please? I don't have workshop or garage access so will be flat on my back in the cold and wet, any help finding them and tips on removal are most welcome?

Once removed will any water drain out whilst the Cayenne is stationary or will I have to drive around to get it out?

Thanks

Look for slightly larger than a quarter sized dark grey / black plastic circles. Plugged into the under carriage a good few inches from the outside edge of the car. The first one is closer to the front wheels and then they go back in a line from there every foot or so. Sorry for the seriously vague instructions.
