Default CAN Bus - Activating A/V Button

Is there any CAN Bus documentation that is available that can show how to simulate/activate the A/V Button or other buttons on the PCM?

There are some cool boards/module like: http://ifar.ca/en/products/flashlink.../features.html

that allows for doing some cool things even on the Cayenne CAN Bus. I know that Nav-Tv offers a module, but for $650, it seems a bit high to simply send in the right signal to the CAN Bus. With that module, you still send in video directly into the PCM.

Come on ltc, I know you are holding out on us.

Can a simple CAN Bus generator be built?

Larry's dead, remember? Show at least a little respect, I believe he did earn that.

What do you mean "thought" ?

FWIW, you're barking up the wrong tree here....but go ahead, buy one, everyone needs a new collar and leash for their pig now and then.

I will respect Larry. How is his wife doing?

Are there alternatives that you can recommend? I hate to spend $650. Is there a generator that can be built? How can I go leashless?

Larry's wife is terrific.

I don't think CAN will do you any good w.r.t. activating the AV button.....but again, if you feel you must.....

I glad to hear that you are taking care of her. You are a good man!

I thought (maybe mistaken) that you need to generate a CAN bus entertainment signal to tell the PCM to "turn on" the A/V button and hence use the video input on the back on the PCM. Is that what the idea of the Nav-TV module?

There are a couple of ways to activate the AV button in the PCM.....designers always leave in back doors for debug (and Easter Eggs as well)

Wow, that would be great. Can you share the info on how to get in there? Let us know the Easter eggs? Please....

There ARE still things like non disclosure agreements in place....some folks don't want certain things made public.

There ARE still things that were worked on 20 years ago that even Larry's widow doesn't know about.

Okay, so how is the A/V button used to begin with? I am assuming it is a Euro option so why not just try to duplicate a Euro configuration? Is there a factory module in Europe that allows use of the A/V button? I can't believe Nav-TV is the only source...
