I used to work 2nd or 3rd shift at a shipping company on my holidays off times in college. We would load and unload trailers and run the trailers in and out with big rigs and smaller company trucks.
alot of these "yard dogs" were fleet vehicles with most being above 500k in miles and some above 1 million miles. That is with us ragging them to bits and never cleaning them up but the mechanics kept them running. Yeah they were diesel but they had turbos too and they were American made to some degrees but it goes to show, expect to pay, or upkeep religiously and something can always run.
Every car I have traded in or discarded, I know could have been up and running with a couple thousand dollars worth of work.
However being in Texas, never have had to deal with rust buckets like other parts of the nation. I guess that could kill your ride.

221.000km on a -05 955TT.
These things are meant to be driven! Mine sat in garage for 8 months, while I was living in SE Asia. During that time she had generated so many electric cremlins, that I can't even count.
During my ownership I've put at least another 200K on other Porsches. Pity, actually, that these kms don't count, as I'd like to see this Cayenne hit 500K, or even 1M. Why not!
