Mark,
Per service adviser, they noticed the rough idle after service was completed but come to think of it, I had noticed the idle running rough before the service. I will call them tomorrow and see if they will make an adjustment.
thank you for your help,
Sam

No excuse, COMPLETE diagnosis should be done before any work. If you had a complaint of rough idle then it should have been diagnosed BEFORE they did any service. If you didnt complain about it then the tech found cracked coils when he was doing plugs, there is no question when coils are bad, they are being crooked and giving other dealers a bad rep.

hi guys. first time poster and first time reader on rennlist here... so far, love the banter and the occasional reference to Larry... sounds like a great fellow, would love to meet him some day.

anyway, on to my concern regarding my purchasing a cayenne by year's end- it sounds like some of you have had to replace the coolant pipes on your 2005 models but I was under the impression that they were all fixed for 2005? perhaps it's in mid year they were choosing to use more expensive material vs the silly plastic?

by the way, i chose to post in this thread first because i want to chase after the highest mileage trophy. not sure if i can beat out T2 however i have put on 150k in my car in the past 4 years.

thanks.

c.

coils (2nd replacement) $413

total service: $3058.00
I'm struggling to wrap my head around this figure. Hopefully you get this sorted with the dealer, sounds like highway robbery

Mudman and Rome - you guys are my hero's!!!

Had 78,000 miles on my Cayenne S after four years of ownership - couldn't get an extended warranty that made sense in the DC area so just got rid of her...

Looked up the work done on her at a Porsche dealership just the other day - although I had coils, headlamp error, damn gas struts won't keep the back hatch up, amp replacement on the stereo, a few TSM's to include cowboy buckles, rear window latch, etc. its NEW OWNERS have since replaced Coolant Hoses, some transmission electronic issue and air bag module failure...

Ouch - she was always good for me...

Between my car and my wife's tank, we had a $6k car service bill this month, where is the stimulus money?

I am not happy but what can I do?
Where are you in New England. I was able to negotiate my price before the work, got about 25% off. I don't care who you are, with that kinda of bling being spent, you can negotiate or go elsewhere.
