...are we going to compare CayenneSs with everything else on the street now?...like 1.8 V4TURBO Audi, or 2.0 V4 Mazdas/Toyotas...

TURBO or SURERcharged in a name of the car does not necessarily reflect it's real engine size/power AND does not necessarily places it in the same league for comparison with, like, CayenneT TURBO or CarreraT TURBO...

RRSuper is NOT in the same league to be compared to CayGTS... it SHOULD be compared to REGULAR 2004 CayenneS, not even 2008... ...even there it's SLOWER...

Ok so seeing that the GTS has an air suspension will it be able to do what the Rangie does in light snow if if tires are changed.

I know the handling is surely better.

Cbryce,

It is very obvious that you badly want to buy a Cayenne GTS with a manual transmission.

For some reason, you seem to want us to talk you into it!

Just buy the freakin' thing! It's fast, it looks great, it handles great, it will do fine in light snow.

I think you're getting bogged down in minutiae. Just buy a Cayenne GTS. You'll be happy.

Although I think he should be talked into a RRS. Either that, or wait for a chance to drive a GTS and then make a decision on your own.

I will wait and give it a test drive but I do have all of the options offered on it. At least I know what it looks liek inside out. I just want to test drive it myself. I might as well go to Portugal seeing they have it already. lol. Ty guys.

I've owned a 2004 Cayenne S and I own a 05 Land Rover LR3. I would think the Cayenne should easily outperform the RRS on the road and the RRS should easily outperform the Cayenne off road.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the overstyled RRS. It's more LR3 than Range Rover, but a lot of the vehicle is marketing.

Here's me driving the LR3 at Nightmare Gulch:

wicked pic

the LR3 is an awsome truck - tons of room and it can do anything.

The Cayenne wasn't half bad either...

Just the tires were a limiting factor...Pirelli Scorpion AT's, but a low profile sidewall, relative to most off road vehicles...

The LR3 is significantly easier and more capable where any rocks are concerned, or where clearance is an issue.

Thanks OZR. Great pictures. Those are some serious tires too. Make my former Scorpions look like racing slicks in comparison...

Check out this video of someone having fun at Azusa with their Cayenne S:
