Default Tool for removing brake rotor?

Is there a recommended tool for removing the large Torx screw that holds the brake rotors in place? Is a regular Torx bit good enough, or is something special required?

My 951 has a Philips head screw, and I have to use an impact wrench to break it loose. I've done rotors on the 951 many times, but this will be the first time on the C-S.

"Search" has found lots of info on brake pad DIY, but I haven't been able to find much at all on DIY rotor replacement.

Front rotor requires NO special tools... REAR rotor requires special double triangle head socket. (12 pt torx)

And BIG torque wrench to tighten caliper brackets @ 200 lb/ft

mudman: the link you provided is for a 12 pt bit - isn't the the rotor fastener a 6 pt? It also says it's for Cayenne calipers, not rotors, but my calipers bolts take a 21 mm socket, not a 12 pt bit. I'm confused!

Brad: do you recall what is the correct size bit for the 6 pt Torx fastener on the front? And do they usually come out easily, or will I probably need an impact wrench?

I'm going with OEM. Maybe I was just lucky, but I got over 50K miles out of them, I don't have squealing problems, and I haven't found them to put out excessive dust. And I tow the track car frequently as well, so I have no complaints about the OEM pads that came on the Cayenne.

I'm hoping the replacement OEM pads are the same material composition.

Thanks, if the replacement OEM pads don't serve me as well as the ones that came on the car I'll look into those as an alternative.

Thanks, brad. I've ordered a set of larger torx bits, and a bigger breaker bar for getting the caliper bolts off. Planning on doing the job this upcoming weekend; if I take any useful pics of the procedure I'll try to post them for all.
