There is probably a few reasons why they are BS-ing you-

First, the dealer may have had false claims Porsche paid and approved on work that didn't happen long ago. Probably under the microscope?

The Job may not feed the mechanics 10 kids from 10 different mothers.

Or they are just inexperienced dealerships?

I know of few dealers around my area who love warranty work, any sign of a flaw and the claim goes in with ease no stupid replicating.

The inconvenience to roam out of state to get good service would of had me trading cars no matter how good the car is.

Oil passage clog, hmmmm. I have seen a report on mobil 0-40 oil go 20k from a Cayenne S and survived, didn't look pretty in terms of numbers but made it. If you have a clog there may be a minor coolant leak.

Keep us informed

It's not an inconvenience, because my parents live in that state and I visit them on monthly basis either way. It's also not an inconvenience considering the dealerships in/around NY. It is an inconvenience in a grander scheme of things and overall it IS ridiculous to drive over 200 miles for a good dealer, but as long as there IS a good dealer I'm willing to do it.

The rest I can't argue with :-D

200 miles isn't that bad
It's good at least you can kill two birds with one rock with your travel.

From EW's description, I've seen/heard this before, on Larry's Cayenne (he owned one, I didn't).

Let's not mention rocks. My windshield was just replaced second time in less than 6 months, because rocks just looooove crashing into my windshield. Maybe someone's trying to tell me something :-D

Brad, let's write that off as a failed attempt at humor. I'm positive that everyone's extremely greatful for your willingness to help

Amen to that! I think it is easiest for some of us, when we are frustrated, to blame the person with whom we DON'T typically interact - the guy in the back of the shop trying to fix our problem - without realizing that it is highly unlikely that he (sorry, EW, not meaning to be sexist, here) is actively trying NOT to fix the problem. He is working under constraints imposed by his boss, his tools, his training, PCNA, PAG, and even the inherent design of the vehicle. For example, that many have complained that, at their dealerships, the least experienced techs get assigned to work on the Cayennes is not the fault of the techs, themselves.

Brad, on this and every other such forum I've been on, the contributions of guys like you, even if it's the worst case scenario of explaining why something CAN'T be diagnosed or fixed, are invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Brad, NO HARM MEANT, just as the lady said, a failed attempt at humor

I do have a good friend who is a VW mech telling me warranty work pays the poorest, am I correct?
Apparently what is a 10 hour job they pay you guys for 5...or the labor rate changes for the worse?

Anyway, sorry about that, no harm intended.

I'm pretty sure if Brad had 10 kids, he'd be too tired to be posting here in the "special" rennlist forum.

Well.... Here's what Peter thinks - "The only thing I can think of is the water pump might be going bad. You won't really see any water leaking out of it either."

Good luck EW

Thank you, Craig. Whatever it is, hopefully it'll be resolved.

I'm in the pre-Tit.S category, although many love to put me into the "soccer mom with a double-wide ***" category :-D
