Well - they do have to R&R the transmission to get to that seal. That could probably take a day.. so figuring flat-rate vs reality - they'll try to nail you a day or two labor.

I'd understand 1 day, even 2 days. but 3 days with all the necessary tools? it's not a space shuttle, just a VW touareg with different body and engine.

I did almost 200K miles on my former BMW and never had any leak whatsoever. it kinda pisses me off that a car (any car...) with 70K miles should leak anything.

OK, so I decided to give the car to my proven BMW/Mercedes guy and it proved be the best decision ever
- parts (seals, filter, oil ...) were around $265
- labor was ONLY $320 (!!! unbelievable, I know)

definitely not a 2 to 3 day job as the dealer and Porsche indy were trying to convince me, but at least now I know I will never ever visit them again.
car is as good as new, now looking forward to installing cat bypass pipes & other performance upgrades to get it to 600+ hp ;-)
