Alex,
I am sorry to hear your recent troubles.
Did you flash back to stock prior to bringing your truck in?
I hope that they do not give you any issues with the mods that you have done on your Cayenne.
I have been struggling on a daily basis as to whether or not I should alter my stock CTT by adding the new evo v-flow intakes, change the blow-offs, get the cat bypass pipes, and of course the GIAC tuning. I have an extended warranty (from Porsche not Hawaii !) for a full 100,000K and I am at 39,000K now. I am sure that I will go with the same changes you have on your vehicle after I go in for my 40K service interval. But there is a little voice inside warning me not to. This voice is not quite as bold as the one that is saying "'F' that, crank up the HP, and screw PCNA's warranty concerns!"
Would you be able to let us know if your dealer gives you a hard time and what the final verdict is?
Thanks

Yes I switch the ECU back to stock, using the switcher.. I dont really have hardcore mods, just secondary cat bypass and the flash.. So you chould be able to do it, unless there are some overrevs that they find, i see this a lot in the 996 forums, but none on the Cayenne's yet.. I dont really drive that crazy

Very glad to hear it's just a seal.
Once the new/improved seal is installed, you should be all set.
(Sorry about the Taurus loaner...when my Porsche dealership ran out of Cayenne loaners, they gave me a new BMW 530i for a couple of days).
Love my Porsche dealer

Ok my car is fixed now, leaking seal at the torque converter
these were replaced
Radial Shaft seal, 2Xcheese-hd. screw 10X, hexagon nut, clamping sleeve, 1 liter of transmission oil
Also i didnt even know that my Seats are not behaving properly, to my surprise the control unit was replaced, now it gracefully moves out of the way after opening the door when the key are removed, didnt even know it backs up that much.LOL
GJB(Glenn Bayliss) was in town, so I picked him up with my newly fixed CTT and took him to the Cayman preview Nice meeting you Glenn?
Then this weekend I noticed I have 19K miles, so I have to take it for oil change
maybe I'll wait till 20K OH i'll make an appointment now before they give me another PT, Porsche Taurus
thanks for the info Lewis, never got the paper back, they're probably still figuring out where I got the Logo,

The affected VIN range is a guess as to when the affected parts were received, how many and when they actually went into a car, so it's not uncommon to find you're "outside the range".
Of course, PAG/PCNA does not want to make the range so wide as to assure they catch ALL the suspected/affected vehicles, since that would be spending $ on vehicles they don't have to, so it's always sort of shrunk down to the "minimum acceptable size/VIN range"

My car is leaking tranny fluid...it's not coming from the pan...looks like the transfer case per the technical bulletin/recall:
http://www.lemonauto.com/complaints/porsche/cayenne.htm
and
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov using NHTSA Campaign ID number : 04V071000
I called both local San Diego Dealers (Hoehn and Pioneer) and either want to honor the recall...but say the vehicle is not within the VIN Range. the manufacturer date on it is: 06/2003
WTF, can these guys get away with this?!? VIN is: WP1AC29P44LA91378
Just last month I coughed up $$$ to the dealer to repair the coolant leak problem. That set my back $1,300 while the dealer covered the cost on the parts.

The fact that the transfer case is leaking has nothing to do with service action W411 or NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V071000. This is what the issue was on the transfer cases that fell under the scope of the W411 service action.
"Porsche AG, has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year
2004 Cayenne (V6), Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo vehicles. The affected vehicles were unfortunately,
fitted with a transfer gearbox on which, due to deformed casting, the oil pump can rotate inside the
housing. The consequence of this is that the supply of oil to the transfer gearbox is interrupted. This in
turn leads to noises from the transfer gearbox.
If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, it can result in the transfer gearbox housing
breaking. This condition could result in a crash without warning."
Nothing to do with leaking fluid!! And plus, the Transfer Case fluid is blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT RED!!!!!!!!! So yes, based on what you have said, the service departments at Hoehn and Pioneer can say " Were sorry sir, but your vehicle does not apply to this service action." and be 100% correct. Take your car to a indy or dealer and get it diagnosed. My guess is that the torque converter pump seal is leaking. They have been known to fail soon after the coolant pipes were replaced. If you really want to make sure that your transfer case is not affected by the W411 service action. Have a tech or you, look at the batch casting number on the tranasfer case. If it is 1.1 or 5.5 it is ok. If it is 2.2 then it needs to be replaced. Your VIN is NOT in the VIN list for the W411. The first turbo effected was WP1ACxxPx4LA92009 the last 8 of your VIN is 4LA91378. Your pig was built prior to the bad batch of transfer cases being installed. Nice try

bringing this thread back from the dead. again
have same problem on a 06 CTTS, my local dealer and indy both say it's a 2 to 3 day job (wtf ?!?!?!) and both say that they also have to replace transmission fluid. I'd be okay with tranny fluid, BUT why should it take 3 days to replace one F.. seal???
so the question is - are they both trying to screw me over a couple of grand or is it really that time consuming to replace faulty shaft seal?
