Post Air Suspension Failure.....

In Bright Red on the dash MFD, followed by "PSM Workshop Failure" and PSM disable indicator on the speedo. Warning was registered under 'Vehicle Info' on the MFD menu.

Why?
I started the car after sitting listening to the radio I suppose.

Verified that the PSM was indeed disabled (wife didn't really appreciate that...should have told her first, my bad) verified that in fact PASM was operational (low to high back to normal....that worked).
Shut off the car, started it 5 minutes later, no warnings, no messages, PSM/PASM were fine.

(as an added bonus, the rear passenger window will go to the top of travel, stop and then go back down halfway. Dealer said I need a new rear window regulator.....customer declined repair. I think the Cayenne is angry with me)

55,501 miles......no warranty.....God, I LOVE This Cayenne.

Not to worry, as I've said before, it's a race to the grave to see who gets there first: me or the Cayenne.

The dealership has attempted to reset the window closed vehicle data that is conviently lost with interruption of battery voltage?

Hey Wingless....where have you been?

I have no idea what they did. I trust the dealership 100% in their findings/recommendations.
So if they say it's the window regulator, I'm OK with that diagnostic.
I simply decided to not fix it now.....I can't seem to bring myself to spend $ on the Cayenne.

My vehicle has lost so much data/configurations, I've lost track.
I've lost modules, options, corrupted memory....you know, all the typical Cayenne 'features' you've come to know and love.

I suppose it's possible it's the rear comfort control module (although it has already been replaced with the latest H/W revision and a new configuration downloaded (from a new car on the lot rather than PAG defaults....you know), but it could also be the window regulator local electronics as well.
I don't really use the rear windows, so for now, screw it.

Just got mine back from the dealer after a list of things to check, one of which was the same intermittent air suspension failure message- it always goes off after turning the car off and on. Fixed the check dipped beam deal as Lewis suggested- it was a loose mounting platform for the light assyembly. They said they fixed the suspension problem- probably cleared the fault code memory! I can also sleep better tonight knowing they replaced the rear hatch microswitch again (for the third or fourth time) ... I did find out they can't update the towing module to the new ID8 from the ID6- need to fiddle with the lights on the trailer some more, but not when it's 10 outside!!!

John,
I don't look at it as a "Lemon".....I prefer to think that my Cayenne has the most "Personality".....although at this point, it's personality is more like 'Frankenstein', since almost half the car has been replaced at one time or another.

rome,
Please explain how an '06 CS would be any better/different?

If I thought for a moment it would fix my issues/concerns, don't you think I'd have done that? There is more going on here than you are aware of, trust me.

An interesting inside joke.

Did you know that the Cayenne, by virtue of MOST is LEGALLY considered a digital network?
Therefore, the lawyers for the recording industry and motion picture industry have REQUIRED that DTCP (digital transfer copyright protection.....trust me, you don't want to know how complicated it is) be implemented BEFORE DVD Audio/DVD Video can be put into a MOST vehicle and said content "transferred over the network"?

So, since you are running a digital network with microprocessors and an OS, a virus scan is NOT that far out of the question eventually.

L-- Thought I've seen you acknowledge elsewhere on this board that the newer models have been improved upon...I suppose that doesn't pertain to towing?

Anyway, sorry to hear about your heart-ache. I have a feeling your CS is not long for your garage and it will be a shame to lose you on this board if you decide to part ways with the guys in Lepzig.
