Default weird warnings

I drove to miami this past saturday and when I arrived a screen popped up and said 4wheel drive failure, psm faulty workshop, and the psm turned off. What does this mean? Then it just went off and comes on sometimes. I also noticed the red light on the diff locking toggle light up in the middle under hard braking. Is this normal? I'll take it in tomm. But I wanted to know if any of you know whats going on.

Please request and post the error codes, stored in the vehicle computers, obtained during the dealership service.

No, it's not normal; but then again, it's a Cayenne, so anything can happen.

What did the dealership find? What error codes were in the vehicle?

Intermittant faults are cleared from the vehicle memory, after 50 ignition cycles. So, depending upon your usage, the fault may not exist.

I had this happen at approximately 10,000 miles, first a PSM inactive alert, then a warning that there was no 4 wheel drive, took it to the dealer who diagnosed it as a faulty transfer servo, no problems since.

I had the same problem 2-3 weeks ago, it was in the dealership for a week because they had to order a new altenator for me. It seems like a problem with the altenator... same exact problem like mine

I had the exact same problem last night coming home from a friend’s house. Have maintenance scheduled for this upcoming Tuesday, will print this off and bring it in with me!

Its probably the servo motor/module...They are in a rough environment and go bad sometimes...
Its not really that big of a deal, easilly fixed...

Seems computers dont like riding under an SUV with bumps and water and heat and stuff...
Someone should fab up a shield of some sort...

What crack's me up is that I'm at 12,000 miles and it goes bad... Is it 10,000 the make or break for the servo?

Luckly, I already had a scheduled date to bring the "Pepper" into the shop. :-)

I will try and pull the code from my dealer on Tuesday when I bring the Pepper into the shop.

Mine hasnt acted up in a while. So I cancelled the appointment cause I've been so busy. Also my front mudflap thing got knocked off and was and dangling. So it was rubbing my front tire. I thought this may be the cause because ever since it fell off there have been no warnings. I'll keep you guys posted. And mine has 14000 miles.

I'm currently at 16K miles. I got the same two messages YESTERDAY (while driving in the heavy rain -- what PERFECT timing!).

1) 4-wheel drive failure
2) PSM faulty workshop (PSM button non-functional as well)

Have appointment at Carlsen on Monday. Thank goodness I have extended warranty!

Will post results/findings on Monday evening.

I had a similar warning about 2 weeks ago. It was Icy (rain with some snow (supposed to be Spring here ). The next day the warning symbol was gone and had no further problems.

Tonight (cold but raining) my Nav. is dim and consule CD is making noises (until I put in a CD) and my Cruise Control doesn't light (i.e., green symbol) and it doesn't work!

I'm taking it in tomorrow morning and will advise as to what is going on (my CS has about 29.5K miles on Odometer - mostly Hwy. Miles).
