Well, my dealer can not pull the code off of the computer although it was only 12-15 engine cycles since the error displayed on the dash. And of course they can't repeat it so I'll take it back and wait till it get's worst as I'm sure it will be back...

Did some research, when the failure comes on, just means I won't be able to manually lock the differential.. OK for now since I won't be too deep off road in the next few months...

JFScheck,

This is happening to me as well. I have my service appt. for Monday, 3/28, and so far today the warning msgs have been gone (was on intermittenly yesterday).

I may try doing some donuts in the Carlsen parking lot if I don't have the warnings on Monday .

Well, went to pick up the Cayenne today and the dealer could find no codes stored even though the car was not cycled more than 50 times.

Went to start it up and "Bang"... Failure message immediately and was able to show the tech. Yea! :-)

Now let's see what codes are in the car!

Took in the car on Monday and I didn't get the two warning messages on the drive in. I did take pictures of the warnings (in case they tried to refuse to fix the problem for not being able to "duplicate it".... which I think is how they take the easy way out).

Here are the results:

1) 4-wheel drive failure -- their response verbatim: "found faults for transfer case control unit. was unable to erase the faults, checked all wiring and connectors, all were good. Replaced control unit and re-checked for proper operation."

Part replaced: 955-624-601-00 Electric Motor 525W

2) PSM Workshop failure -- "same as line A"

Mine turned out to be a faulty sterring sensor.

Kinda strange to me but....

I guess we will see, we get code tomorow when I pick up the pepper...
