Cayenne Headlight Coating
One question about the headlights.
there is some kind of coating on the headlights. This is a of foil? Some kind of clear paint ? Projection?
It’s starting to fail on the drivers side headlight.
please see the picture. Difficult to notice on the pictures. Any possibility to renew or I need to get a new assembly?
thank you

Use the Sylvania Headlight Restoration Kit and then after working on the sealant and letting it cure, have them wrapped with clear PPF

My 997 and 928 headlights are also wrapped.

Looks like someone had the headlights clear coated for additional protection in the past. It works, as clear coat offers UV protection, but correct clear coat compatible with polycarbonate lens must be used. Otherwise, you end up with peeling clear coat...
You'll need to sand down the whole head light to get rid of this. A lot of careful sanding. Then, you'll need to treat this as any old headlight that has lost it's factory applied UV protection: either clear coat it again, apply other UV protectant (those usually last a few months to a year and have to be re-applied), and/or add "clear bra" film (several companies sell those precut).
Good luck!
