Default Catch Can Q - CFM through the main PCV hose

Any idea how much CFM goes through the PCV hoses down to the turbo?
Im thinking this is a great option for a catch can, 120CFM with huge particulate filter 5 micron. Made for air compressors...

... I also noticed the drain on bottom of osme of them is auto draining - not one linked above which is nice.

1/2" npt ports are more readily available, but I think that would get too restrictive for the airflow...ideas?

I just like the huge filter which cheap catch cans dont have

Just for sake of conversation…I don’t know if a filter adds much value to the purpose the oil catch can serves, and I don’t believe cfm is much of a limiting factor for the system.

Agreed, its not a filter per se, but surface area for oil to condense on and drip down (would also add that metal scrub pad material in there)
Looks like some catch cans use 40 micron bronze "filters" so 5 might not be enough/clog oil too fast.
I guess its not a big deal to restrict airflow...probably is beneficial really unless the built-in AOS requires a certain amount of suction on the system to work...

Not sure how well a filter designed to separate water is going to work to separate oil.

Because a bronze filter is a bronze filter
See this:
Amazon Amazon
Then this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/164534481729
See any real differences?

The mishimoto catch cans have small bronze filters them, but I dont want to shell out $100, and while I know it might work better than nothing, I'm trying to find/make something that is more effective for cheaper.

All the catch cans Ive found in $20-150 range have the inlet and outlet right next to eachother, when you want the air to flow through and have time to condense on a scrub pad/"filter media". The more of this, the more oil comes out.

Even on product diagrams you see this issue (circled in red) - theres nothing forcing air through the can and condense on the scrub pad material. Needs to have a baffle or something to keep air in longer. I think its that simple, and dont see that in most these catch cans.

I fully expect Im overthinking this.

Stuff it with coarse steel wool. That is what I do with the cheap empty catch cans and it seems to work well.

Ended up with one of these, has a couple baffles going about halfway down...wish it was twice as long but w/e. Now trying to figure out hose. Cant get the AN12 braided stuff on it, it smeasures at 5/8 I just dont think heat/etc will be enouhg to stretch with that cable in it
