Thanks, got it out this morning, finally! Getting it past the radiator hose on top was tight.
So Looks like I should replace the belt while I am in there.
How much oil comes out when you remove the pressure sensor? Car has been sitting for about 5 days now.
Thanks, stuck now getting the radiator fan out. Both of the clips are undone on each side, I removed the top radiator mount screws to give me a bit of play, but when I lift the fan shroud up, there is a tab on the shroud below the bottom lower left radiator connection outlet that gets stuck and jammed, I cant seem to tilt or move the fan shroud past this. So the shroud is loose and floating around, guess I will re-watch some videos and write ups. Pelican says move side to side but it just doesn't seem to want to clear it.[/QUOTE]
I remember having to wrestle with it gently to get it by the radiator connection. It was really snug and I had to push it out some. Going by memory now. Go under the car and see how things r lined up. Try unhooking/pulling up on the right side firs a bit then the left - sort of side to side motion. The fan removal videos that r posted are good, however I don't think they're turbo pigs
Also I used some painters tape to mark the points where the bottom of fan connect. It helped in the positioning when reinstalling.

The vacuum line I'm speaking about is actually clipped to a pulley on the right side of the engine. Once you remove the fan it will be clearly visible.

Whats involved to remove the dipstick tube?
Did you put anything on the bolts when re-installing the sensor?
I wish there was an easy way to test the sensor other than putting the whole intake of the car back together

I got the message "Oil pressure monitoring failure" today when sitting at a light. It goes away as I drive off but comes back when I stop. I guess I have to go down this path of replacing the sensor.
Mine is a 2008 Cayenne S with 125k miles on it. I will take the approach of removing the belt and idler plus the dipstick. The weather forecast this week seems to be cold and snowy. I may have to wait for a bit of warm weather. In the meantime, I will order the part and get ready.
Thank you everyone who posted instructions and tips for this DIY. Much appreciated...
Cheers!

Need help really bad.
@Trinitony I took the old sensor/sender out and tried to put in the new one. I find some resistance going in. I have the same Bosch part number in this thread (#11 post).
Did you find some resistance too and do I just need to man up and push it in?
Please help!!!
Many thanks!!

The new and old sensor should be identical in shape. There was lil or no resistance.

So corona virus hit and it was cold and I didn't need the car, so I got lazy and car is still in the same state as I last posted, I hope I can remember where it all goes when putting back together. Now that the weather is warm, stay tuned for some swearing...
