Most German cars that I know of have an option code for this. In BMW land it's option code 320 and is called "MODEL DESIGNATION, DELETION" or "DELETED, MODEL LETTERING" (depending on who is doing the translating).

It would be interesting to see the percentage of how many Base models has this option, compared to, say, the Turbo S...
I usually prefer the clean look but when I got my TTS I quickly managed to convince myself that "well, it could be nice and informative for my fellow motorists to see what car I'm driving"

... For the 911SC you get: "Ohh man it must be SuperCharged" - Nooo Nooo , but go on and think that I'm not even going to explain it.
Thanks!

Agreed, I like the crest you added! Would you happen to have a PN for the Porsche Crest badge? (same as front badge?) I've seen people add the "P-O-R-S-C-H-E" lettering, but that is just too over the top IMO and does not match the "Cayenne" script. The badge just looks right IMO.

The 997 is actually supercharged - it's a RUF R-Kompressor conversion - has about 485 HP.
Supercharger pulley is just to the left of the elbow in the CF intake
Here's RUF model engine - anything shown in a color is different than stock and a part of the Supercharger kit

You can actually use any Porsche crest you like - you just snap the normal mounting pins off if it's from another model. I did use a new Cayenne version though that has the smooth face. The hatch does not have the same curvature of the hood though so the top section and bottom point will touch first before the middle adheres well. You can either build up the middle or what I did was make the top part sit flush and built up the bottom point so the whole thing touches. I used 3M Trim adhesive tape. You'll also probably need to remove and reapply the model designation for the spacing to look right, as the normal model designation is more centered in the panel.

Mmm, I bet that is nasty on the back roads! Looks like a good excuse to make the road trip from Clemson to Alpine Helen GA!
FWIW I met Mr Ruf years ago at the Hershey PA 50th Parade and he was just wandering around the Swap Meet looking for 2.2 and 2.4 parts to ship back to Germany for customer cars. Super nice guy and a real enthusiast.

My 958 has model designation delete - in this case - the "Porsche Cayenne Turbo" script on the rear of the vehicle is there - but painted in the body color (white..) So it's there and informative, but discreet.

I thought that was a different option code, called "emblem in body color" or something like that, but not "delete" .
