No failure, 98K, stock, no plans to replace. Change oil every 5K, does see occasional track time on street tires. 2001 Boxster

Boster S 2001 60'700 miles no failure.
Preventive maintenance decided : change IMS against the new double row LN kit.
The OEM original bearing is now removed, it was a single row.
..but nothing in stock at different suppliers !!!
Two weeks to wait for next shipment, no fun, why advertize something not available. Not fair.

Suppliers did not stock up this year because the long cold winter all across the US made demand drop. We told the distributors to order units, else they'd not have them when the demand exploded in the spring, like it always does.

Once spring and summer arrived the distributors then sold units and placed orders, then they all went out of stock in 3-4 weeks and backorders in the hundreds now exist.

The IMS Solution is in stock and will provide a superior bearing retrofit for your single row engine. One distributor has 3-4 of them left in stock, but those will be gone next week.

More items are in transit and distributors will have them in the next 10 days.

For a Classic Single Row?? I don't believe that any suppliers have them.

2005 Boxster S, IMS failure at 37000 miles. Engine rebuilt by Tuners RS in Ft Lauderdale for about 1/2 the dealer quote (Champion). Drove the car an additional 5000 miles and sold it. My claim was accepted for full reimbursement. When the distribution is finally made, I'll be in the market for a 2009-11 911 S.
In the meantime I'm driving a 2005 Maserati Coupe 6MT with about 20,000 miles and various mods that bring it up to about 425 hp.

2002 Boxster 2.7. Purchased used fourth owner in 2008. No maintenance history. Pre purchase inspection completed by independent Porsche Tech. then had maintenance brought up to date after purchase. Currently 75K miles. I have been doing the scheduled oil changes and minor services myself. Checking oil and filter for metal shavings and such. No problems to date. Very small oil leak from main seal, but it has always had that. The first few years it was a daily driver, but now comes out maybe once of twice a month. No IMS failure to date.
