I would say around $3k off maybe more depending on how high the MSRP is.

Don't start at MSRP, start at INVOICE and work up from there, deals can be had at near Invoice these days!

All good advice, but I would add that how the car is equipped, time of year, number of similar vehicles on the lot, and location play a role as to how close to invoice you will get. Dont do a trade in or at least wait until your close to the price you want.

I bought an 03 Boxster S factory demo for 7K off sticker ($50,500). It had 7,500 miles on it but they did service and put on new tires.

I think 5K off sticker for new is a better deal but I was having trouble getting dealers in my area to come down much off sticker on new 2003 Boxster S.

I wonder if the posts here are representative ... my guess is a lot of people are paying close to sticker and are not as likely to tell you about it.

I just bought a new 2003 Boxster S. List was $58,870 with options and I paid $54,572. I also got similar discounted offers from another dealer who didn't have the car, color and options I wanted. I thought this was a fair price for the car in the area that I live as there is not much competition between dealers.

I just bought a non-s, 52K list for 45.2. Offer them invoice +1000 (about 2%) and see if they take it. If not, move on. Then try other dealers, even through an internet pricing setup. Then call the dealer and see if the car is still there in a week or so. THERE ARE PLENTY ON LOTS ALL OVER. Dont fall in love with a particular one. I had 2 dealers in the DC area working. One got really POed when I bought from the other for less! Its a buyers market, at least until the slowdown in production catches up with the demand. Hang in tough on the price and it will pay off. Dont let them add a bunch of junk in the finance office either.
