How Much Did You Pay?

Just ordered a 2003 Boxster S pretty optioned out. Got it from the dealer for $1000 over invoice. Now is a really good time to purchase Boxsters, dealers are willing to negotiate prices.

A sweeping question.
I'll mention that at least one SF Bay Area dealer, claridges.porschedealer.com, ran an ad two or three weeks ago in the local paper, www.sfchronicle.com offering new '02 cars at huge discounts. I recall, for example, $10,500 of a '02 C2 Cab (!) other local dealers saw the ad and characterised it as "running scared" (remembering that Porsche had just announced a cut back in production volume) but I'd have to imagine that if you found the car you wanted ('02 or '03) the given dealer would do at least invoice (check www.edmunds.com for invoice prices) and maybe sweeten the deal with say 15% of Tequipment or maybe some nicer wheels like the '02 Carrera wheels.
Of course, make sure you get the hardtop or you'll have trouble doing track days ...
I played with an '03 Box-S the other day (waiting to drive a Cayenne...) and I liked what they've done with the glass window and the improved exhaust note, but I don't like the make-over on the front and rear bumper covers. Given the four year warranty, maybe the '02 or '01 S makes more sense. Incredible value in these cars now that the demand has dropped off. The '05 Boxster is already in spy photos and known to be little more than an "evolutionary, not revolutionary" step so, can you imagine any other car from any other manufacturer arriving in the next two or three years that will be even comparable -- much less equivalent or better -- than the Boxster?

I just took my neighbor pal to the Porsche dealer and sold him on an '03 Boxster 2.7 liter.
It stickered at $48,300 - and after 5 hours he drove it home for $5000 off sticker.
Lets see... It is Lapis blue, blue top, w/ Savannah leather, has the wind stop, heated seats, exclusive mats, "Boxster S" wheels, litronics, and maybe some other items I have forgotten.
I think he got a screaming deal.
And let me say that the exhaust note is superb.

Check out my Son admiring the "big" Boxster while on his "little" Boxster as the big version gets ready for its 1st wash in our pals driveway.

Cool, guys
I kinda paid wholesale. Uncle is a wholesale dealer and was shopping for 2 months (no great deals at all in that market). Found a wholesaler on ebay who picked up the one I got a couple months ago (offlease) for $36k, clean book was $36.5 so I offered that and he accepted. Milsage is kind of high for an '01 though, no? =\
....You know of the 'common colors', I love seal gray, but I would of LOVED to have lapis or ocean blue, those are beautiful.
