Cool 25 RWHP only $$$$ away...

S-car-go out of the bay area in California can give Boxter owners a genuine 25 h.p. at the rear wheels! All I need is their headers for $2500 their cf intake $595, hi-flow cats $1600 and the dme for $1300. They claim no check engine light. This is some serious h.p. boys. We are looking at a 255-260 bhp 2.7. I better start saving now. They claim their intake is a big part of this (10 h.p.) and is now on my short list....

Anyone here use there stuff. Their header guy sounds a real gem to me

I haven't run the numbers, but for that kind of $$$ you could probably just plug in a 3.4L engine from a 996 - that would give you at least 300HP.

Elsewhere, someone posted that you can get a 3.6L engine for $8k plus 10 hours labor to install (may be easier on a Boxster S due to 996 tranny though). 330 HP.

In any event, an engine swap is probably the most reliable ticket to a major power boost.

25hp for $6k does not sound like a good investment, especially now that I've seen 3.4 engine swaps done under $10k. Have you seen a dyno sheet that shows hp & torque curves? Those mods sound like they will give high rpm results, but what about the low to mid range?

3.4/3.6 swap if you want the boxster

if all you care about is power vs money, get a 911.

You'd be better off spending half that money on track time and improving the part between the wheel and the seat.

Get a 928GT/S4, bolt on a supercharger. 600+hp, 550+ lbft torque.

Actually, this setup is cheaper than a Boxster.

If you just want horsepower, buy a Vett.

Or, design a conversion kit and shoe horn a small block v8 in your boxster. That I would have to see !

They drop V8's in older 911's for about 3500 bucks plus the engine. Maybe you can cut up the engine compartment and squeeze on in the boxster.

As soon as my 2.7 decides to stop leaking oil from the RMS, I'll put some more miles on it. The 2.7 has plenty of go for what I do and the fuel economy isn't that bad (25-29 hwy/city combination)

Those pics are funny but a few years old. If you are a member of any import or domestic web forum you'll see them constantly.
